Well i started to mod my mfr. This little truck flys now. can run with revos no problem . I put an O.S. cvrx .18 motor on it and a cvec pipe . This motor has lots more power than the gxr but i never got to try the gxr at the track. i ran at the track once with the stock pipe and had this cvec pipe layn around so i tried it out. I was able to lean it out quite a bit with the cvec and it sounds like a beast. on the track the thing hits second gear and is almost uncontrollable. tires and body will be my next mods. the stock tires work pretty good they do push a little on dry slick corners. sofar the truck doing pretty good i am a little worried about the dog bones I notice a slight twist starting in one of the fronts but im going to wait until i have a failure before i deside what to do the kyosho cvd's are a little high priced for me but may be my only option for upgrade. The truck wanted to nose dive on jumps some i tried some 50wt shock oil in the front but ended up haven to crank the preloads down about half way the nose sits a little higher than i like but it will have to work for now. The shocks took so much oil im going to wait to mess with them more. Ill get some picutes up this week

hows it going what a good site for the mfr hopups
well there arent many hop ups kyosho offers some cvd's but there super expensive.
So ive had the truck out to the track latley to run around with my buddy with a revo. The truck is as fast as the revo just dont handle quite as good. It makes t maxx's look like junk (he let me wheel his revo around a few laps it was nice). I seem to break the truck every time this weekend was front knucles, popped dogbone out twice, and put a huge cut in the front tire but i am maken some progress with the truck. This motor and pipe combo are wicked fast. The cvec pipe sounds so deep people were asking if i had a big block. I moved the front shocks to the inner holes on the a arms the truck seems to wana nose dive on some jumps. I am going to try and fab up some sorta wing maybe get a little extra weight back there will help. While at the lhs i found some hpi 17mm adapters that fit the salavge work for the truck so im going to try and borrow some wide offset lpr crimefighters from buddy with the revo. will try to get some pics up when i get it fixed
Small update i got some losi wide offset truggy wheels and some lpr crimefighters maken some 17mm adapters were tricky but got it done . I wanted to start working on a wing but they lhs didnt have any mounts instock that worked but hes gunna order some.i broke steering knuckled and replaced it with a MGT part that is a little more beefy .
Heres a couple pics

Small Update:
well i got to the track to test out the new tires and wheels , and the shock canges i made since last time. i got the suspension working great ! in the front im still using the 50wt i have the lower mount closest to the rim( stock) and the upper mount i put in the closest to the center of truck. this stiffend up the front more and also let me get a level ride height. with the new wheels and tires this thing drove so sweet. i ran some toe out on the front ( looks kinda like /----\ ) my buddy and his revo had a hard time catchn up. but i did break an axle i dont know weither i just had a bad one the metal looks super cheap or if the wide offset and heavier wheels did it or my home made adapeters. ( it broke going in to a corner like 5 turns after a big jump) im going to get a new set of stockers and if i break them again look in to using stuff for a different truck or maybe them super expensive kyosho cvd's. each time to the track i like this truck more. but still wish i had a revo so i wouldnt nickle and dime my self with broken parts and the shipping cause closest kyosho deal is hour and half away
good news amainhobbies.com has mfr and dbx (mfr uses some parts from dbx) parts in stock its little cheaper and faster shipping than kyosho america

Has anyone had their MFR slip out of forward gear while driving? Then when the truck comes to a stop it drives fine in revers but takes a second to catch the forward gear to get going again.
hi,
i have recently got my MFR and was wondering on what upgrades are best for it. im still new at this and im not familliar with wat upgrades to put on and what types. i just want more speed more sound, can i get any advice?
thanks
well while racing with a buddy this weekend he told me he had a vid of the kyosho on his phone. Well here ya go . The truck looks like it was running pretty good . I think that day was working on the suspension and shift point

hi all,
i have the MFR , and its awsome
you have to stop first then change the gear....
but its awwwwwsssooommmeeee
dude , why did you changed your tires?
main reason for tire change was the stock tires are so thin that i hit the pipes a few times and the rim cut the tires. 2 or 3 are cut
i really like the look and lightness of the stockers but didnt want to have to worry about them so went with some 1/2 off set losi rims on proline crime fighters lpr.
i was using the stockers on a revo i had but now its got so much power it would shred them. they make nice car stands hahaha
I just ordered the CVRX 18 for my MFR, what engine mounts did you use since the GXR 18 has built in mounts?
TRW104 and 2 shims that came with the motor... this will require longer bolts stock ones came loose chewed up a spur
