Well today going to be the first flight (hover) for my Thunder Tiger Raptor 50 V2 Helicopter, :D after a long and hard process of getting everything needed to fly and get it built. Trying to get the missing part for my kit (of course it was a part that is required to fly the thing) but luckily The field I will be flying at also has Raptor factory rep’s and factory Pilots flying here, so I was able to get the part from them. After e-mails and phone messages Ace still assent's responded yet, will keep trying they owe me that part.
Going to try to get some Pic’s today out at the field and will get them posted. Been getting time on the Simulator when I can and feel fairly confident that I can hover without crashing, luckily I’ve got experienced pilots that are willing to help me get it set up and help me with the flying, so I should do alright. Well will let you all know how it turns out.

Very awesome. I have only flown a 'copter once. It was a guy at my fields. He let me try it out while he flew my trainer plain. I got it to hover in about 30 minutes...I didn't want to go any higher than 2 feet. I got it up there and it started drifting around and I freaked. On well, I got it down and he gave me his phone number if I ever wanted to fly again. You will definately have fun flying, I know I did. Let us know how things come out. and remember, if you start spiraling, DO NOT drop the transmitter. It's always best to at least try to get it out of a jam. Are you going to have a buddy link? Or do they use those for helicopters?

Tell me how you go. I myself (being sort of young and all...) took ages to get all the parts needed and get my heli built, because I had to pay for alot of the parts myself. But now I'm a pretty good flier, I almost ready to move on to loops and rolls.

lescar:is it you first time flying?
I've flown on a simulator before and it was hard to control all the different things at once. those helis are complicated.
Yes It was the first time for me, luckily I have quit a few Heli fliers out where I fly that are more then willing to help with setup and training, I don’t buddy box on the Heli since you only start out hovering a few inches off the ground with training gear. Actually the Sim, at least to me seams harder to fly then the real thing. Glad to hear you have a Sim. to practice with, if you can master it then you should not have to many problems controlling it, The main thing to remember is get help with the Heli and radio setup (that is the hardest part for someone new) from an experienced Heli flier before attempting your first hover , it will make your first experience so much better. :D
