the 6800 wont fit in the 540 mount, is a 1/18th scale motor.

Cubic, you probably haven't been on the R/C scene for too long ;) The Mamba 25 is the older version of the Micro Sidewinder and Mamba Micro pro.

It would fit, how good of a match the 6800kv motor would be I am not sure. The stock VXL motor is huge length wise and produces a huge amount of torque. I have a Micro Sidewinder sitting here I have been wondering if it could handle the VXL motor.

well I was wonder more on the side of just the esc, Semipro said the vxl motor gets pretty hot with the stock esc but with the CC esc he said it ran cooler.

I have not had any heat issues with either the ESC or the motor as of yet. I am running stock gearing on a 2s and once in a while the stock nimh pack that came with the truck. I dont think I have seen a temp over 128º as of yet.

It was never discontinued it was renamed the "Sidewinder Micro".

hmm might be the way its gears or also might have to do with ambient temperatures and humidity, hopefully semipro chimes in as he lives in the same climate area as me

Just another way to make products seem like "new". Still the same ESC on the inside (and outside) except for a few refinements maybe....

I think the esc will work just keep the vxl motor.

Anyway, the ESC will work. But for a heavier truck like the Mini E- Revo, I recommend the Mamba Micro Pro, it can handle 35 amps, and has a heatsink, and looks cool. Not too much more, worth it IMO. (I love mine =P)

I read on another forum a member contacted Castle about this. The reply he got said they had tested it and it ran warm on 2s and over heated on 3s. Castle has decided the Micro Sidewinder can not be used with the mini Traxxas trucks and doing so will void the warranty :(

I ran my antique mamba 25 in my brothers with the stock battery and it did pretty well! but got a little hot.. Someday i may try it with his 2s he's recently gotten.. but i'm sure it'll get too hot...

i saw but i cant FIND IT HELP ME I AM LOSING MY MIND i saw this company makes a bracket for the 1/16 slash and revo that you can out a big old 1/10 bl motor and esc i saw a video on it and it has so much power it will do a flip in reverse
