Anybody have experience with Linux, more specifically TurboLinux? I've had to re-install several times and I can't get into X windows. I'm logging in as root and turboxcfg starts up the utility to configure X but I can't get by the video/monitor configuartion. My video card and monitor aren't listed but I put in their specs and still no luck. Any ideas? I'd really like not having to re-partition and format and re-install Linux any more than I have to (4 times so far  ). I have a RasterOps Super Scan MC-21 monitor and a Intel 82810 3D direct AGP video card if it matters.

Hmm... Been using RedHat for so long now I'm not sure how to help. RedHat installs easier than Windows.
Just curious... Why Turbo Linux?
What happens? Does X just dump out to an error when you try to run it? What's the exact error you're getting... Any specific details would help the troubleshooting...

I found out what it was...I need to download "XF863D" and install it to the root directory. I'm just gonna delete TurboLinux and install Red Hat 9.0 and Mandrake 9.1 on another partition. I don't have DSL and I borrowed TurboLinux from my computer teacher; he owns an ISP and thats the main OS they use. I'm trying to get a job but I'm just going to learn the easier Linux distributions first. I'm in Cisco Semester 3 right now; knowing UNIX/Linux should help even more.

Very cool.
I'm not sure how much Unix/Linux experience you have, but I highly recommend this book:

$69 sure seems like alot, especially for a paperback, but that book is worth every penny. This covers a few unix flavors, like Solaris, BSD, RH Linux.

Now they have a linux specific one, but I've never picked it up. If its at all as good as its sister book, it'd be worth picking up too.
Some other good unix stuff:
