So, what would be involved in a 2WD rock crawler? I have my Stampede, and a big pile of bricks in the back yard... What's the best way to get over them?
I've swapped out the rear carriers with Nitro parts, and swapped the front A arms out with ones off an Associated truck, new front wheels too.
What motor and gearing would give me the push to climb over all things in the way, and how soft can you make the front suspension?

use some jb weld or epoxy to lock the diff. get some masher 2000's if u havent yet. a 550 motor out of an emaxx with a pack in the reg spot and one underneath the chassis between the skidplates. gear as low as possible, maybe 12/93 and u will be unstoppable except for vertical surfaces:)
you mite like some white losi spring's there soft so you can clear stuff safely

Naw just put a big jump over next to the pile. Just messing. I would put some longer shocks on the front the pede somewhat lacks in the front suspension area. If your rock crawling that is.
have you thought about taking the shock oil out completely?
hay I tride that and it work's

heres my plans for my super rockcrawler
1.4wd
2.bad maxx trinity motors
3.maxxx shocks
4. super tread tires (dont know which ones)
5.parrallel tempo escs
6.dual 3000s
that is my 4wd version, i want to make it were i can easily put it into 2wd by takin the front tranny off, taking the extra esc off, keeping the second battery on with a y harness!
i need the money first lol

1. Got it.
2. Got it.
3. Got it.
4. Got it.
5. One will run dual motor fine.
6. Just extra weight.
Thats basically my setup just I run 1 pack and 1 esc. Its a good setup for crawling.
Well the search is on for a motor then. I just want to use a single pack, to keep it cheap.
Up front I have a pair of hacked together shocks. They are old associated bodies with traxxas long shafts. They work well, because the body is short enough to just almost bottom out the front. I had to clearance the skid plate a bit, for the down travel.
I'll look for those white losi springs.
Look into the magnetic meyham motor from Kyosho....( I havent even seen a motor with more torque) not brushed anyway....
them spring's work grate pm me whith your e-mail and I well send you a pix of how well thay work

I run the Badd Maxx's on 7.2v and they have even more performance then the Mag Meyhems. (I loved the mags till I ran the Maxx's)
so, anyone figure if the front hubs and carriers of a 4 tec fit on the back of a 'pede, for 4 wheel steering?
Hmmm Where would that servo go.
What parts are used on the 4wd kits???

The 4-Tec doesn't use hubs. Its a pivot setup. I looked into making it work, and figured out how I could, but I don't think it would be as strong.
