Quick Rock Crawling Questions

I love looking at E maxxs and other rock crawlers but was wondering how much it costs to get one on the rock.
take for example this one (Rockhead) http://www.monstertruckparts.com.au/Rockhead.htm
how much would it cost to get on the rocks.
And how many mods do you have to do?

you can use the emaxx as a rockcrawler, however, that truck is a tamiya txt-1, which is a 4-link truck, whereas the emaxx is independent supsension. I will try to find the link, but there is a guy on the rcmt boards that made an emaxx a rockcrawler, but custom built it out of tubing. But your best bet for a stock emaxx would be to lock the differentials with traxxas spools. But if you use the spools, I wouldnt drive onroad at all, because it will grind the hell out of the gears.

Hey jim: is the guy your talking about named artimus or somethin like that? i know there was this one guy (named artimus) on Maxxtraxx that made a 4-link Emaxx using steel tubes. that thing looked killer!

the first MUST for a rock crawler are to lock the diffs using the spools that Jim mentioned.

we-ll here is a 4 link EMaxx....a pretty nice one too! its owner is a guy called maxxcrazy (found this on a seperate board so he might go by a different name at other places). i believe those are juggy tires....and they look kickin on the Emaxx!

In my opinion the best crawler out of the box is the Tamiya TXT-1. BUt if you want the king of crawler iut has to be the Tamiya Coldbuster! the clods are cool trucks stock, but i tihnk they reach their crawling prime when they are modified/hopped up.
