tmaxx+crawling= good or bad???

I have a stupid question with probably a stupid answer, but I am new to the world of nitro and monster trucks, so here goes: Would a tmaxx be good at rock crawling? I have seen many electric monster truckscrawl, but I 'v enever seen a nitro do the same thing. I recently purchased a maxx from rennek37, and it was a great deal might I ad.

The Tmaxx can rock crawl just not as good as a txt1 or even an emaxx but it certainly can depending on how "extreme" the crawling is

The main problem with crawling with the TMaxx (or nitro in general) is that the truck relies on the wind of motion running over the cooling head to keep the truck from overheating. Rockcrawling would mean lots of load, lots of RPMs, and little or no wind cooling the engine. It would overheat VERY quickly.

Notice in the manual it tells you never to make the TMaxx haul any kind of load, much for the same reason.

Nevertheless, you could do it. It is just you'd have to give it a good few open passes after each attempt, and not drag out each attempt at climbing too long. Plus, you'd better monitor your engine temp closely and run a rich mixture.

All of that is alot of hassle, which is prolly why you don't see TMaxx rock crawlers. :confused:

well when you rock crawl you generally run at low rpm's but ys that can also cause stress on the engine in a stituation like rock crawling

buy a nitro engine fan and a bigger cooling head and then you probally could. Plus you would want to get some Big Joes or Jumbo Kong tires for clearance and be able to climb over bigger tires:evil:

What If I had 2 CPU fans strapped to the cooling head? That's what my friend did.

That would drain the eciever battery's fast...tis what it would do

Id be running them off 2 seperate 9 volt batteries, bvelieve me, CPU fans don't drain much power at all.
