i was wondering what the best rockcrawler is and if i could turn my emaxx it to a good rockcrawler
thanx brett:D
The best is prolly a hopped up TXT-1, but a hopped up EMaxx would certainly give it a run for its money...in the end, solid axle would certainly win, though.

The Clod is a great crawler and a bit faster.

There is generally a debate about which is the best crawler, a modified clodbuster or a TXT-1, or perhaps a Juggernaut 2. A Clod, while not cheap for its dated design, wont win any awards for crawling out of the box, but itll hold its own, even if stock. A TXT-1, which is already "modified" for crawling, will do much better out of the box, than lets say a stock clod or jugg. After a clod has been modified with a new chassis, etc. THEN is when it will start to rival TXT-1s rather well. So there you have it. E-maxxs, while having huge amounts of low end torque, wont necessarily edge out fellow clods, since clods and juggs and TXT-1s are all solid axle, which naturally do better in climbing rocks and hills alike than independant suspension trucks, so thats basically all you need to know. If you just wanted the insane torque that E-maxxes have, then you could buy a clod, or TXT and just transfer the Titans and EVX in there, and youll have a stump pulling monster thatll give any truck out there a run for its money on hills and rocks.
ok, the reason an emax or any other monster with independent suspention will not work for rock crawling is due to the fact that your diffs will bind if you put to much of an angle on the universals. non rc caompanies are working on this problem but untill they can get it worked out then that will continue to be a problem. the txt can have this problem with its driveshaft. the clod has no drive shaft it also has a lower cog than the txt or emaxx if you use a light chassis and mount the batteries low. the jugg had several problems which all but eleminated any rock crawling potential without significant modification.
1. binding, the driveshafts would bind way to easily on it.
2. chasis flex, that thing would bend almost forever especially on a hard take off.
3. hard suspension, the suspention comprised of a combination coilover/leaf spring with made it way to stiff to get any real flex out of it.
4. the gen1 jugg had gearbox durability issues that required a full recall/ redesing of them to remedy that problem.
