Thanks! Please be sure to submit these to the gallery, if you will :D
Yeah! MONSTER GT is SO much more sexy than the Savage! I always hated RCs that look like a body shell perched on top of a NASA rover!

Hi regg, welcome to the site. Those are stock MGT tires on his truck. They are significantly larger than 'Maxx tires.

He was talking about the Savage, not the MGT. I'm pretty sure those aren't stock Savage dubs, but I'm not sure if they're for a Maxx. The shadows in the picture make it kind of tricky to tell.

Doh, why didn't I see that. Says right there, "tmaxx tires on the savage."
Well, 'Maxx and Savage wheels are identical in size, so you're left with relatively differences in carcass shape from one tire to another.

Actually I was reffering to the savage it's sporting maxx size tires not the stock savage tires there by making it look smaller then it is, not to mention that the savage is further away from the camera then the MGT making it look smaller as well :devious: IMHO if your going to go thru the trouble to post pics of the two trucks side by side for comparison then put them side by side with their stock equipment. we all know that the stock savage tires are about an inch taller then the maxx tires. and i'm fairly certain that the pics weren't taken with the intent to make the MGT look bigger then it is but ya gotta admit that they are a bit deceiving since anything placed closer to the cam will look bigger then something placed further away.
I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything just stating my opinion. I'm lookiing forward to hearing more about the MGT as far as durability, handeling, jumping and climbing capabilities go but at the same time if your going to compare it to anything else at least try to keep everything box stock just to keep it fair since the MGT has no hopups as of yet the savage and maxx have been out long enough to get a good following behind them hopefully this truck can live up to all the hype, if it had come out when it was first announced I would have picked one up simply because it carriys the AE name.
Now go out and bash that MGT and let us know how it soaks it up, looking forward to your review.:rollin:

First off, stock Savage tires are 5.9" in diameter. Stock T-Maxx tires are 5.75" in diameter. That's a difference of 0.15", not 1". Even the super low-profile Road Rage tires from Pro-Line are 5.5". Besides, folks who race quite often put better-performing, lower-profile 'Maxx (or Savage, same same) tires on their Savages.
Regardless, if you look at a stock Monster GT next to a stock Savage or 'Maxx (either or, they're the same size), the MGT dwarfs them. If you haven't seen & felt the two, in person, out of the box, you just don't understand. It's a non-trivial difference. The MGT is bigger. It's a fact. That doesn't make it better or worse, and it doesn't mean we should all buy MGT's and burn Savages or what not.
Second, the 2nd picture above shows the Savage closer to the camera than the MGT, thereby artificially inflating the size of the Savage.
I'm just trying to make a point, and that is, there's no need to accuse this guy of deceipt. That's just completely unnecessary. All he did was post a couple of candid pictures! Notice he has not only an MGT, but a Savage as well, and I'm sure he's proud of both of them. They're different vehicles and they surely both have their own unique strengths & weaknesses.
Lastly, your signature image is too large. Please adjust it down to 480x60 or smaller per the forum rules (http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1923), thank you.

ok on the tiers you may be quite right as I don't have any maxx size tires to measure . I was just stating that the tires from the stock savage look much better then the maxx tires wasn't saying anything about performance wise just on looking at the trucks side by side the maxx tires do look a bit funny lookin IMO.
Yes the MGT is bigger not disputing that fact it's approx the same difference between the maxx and savage i belive I have yet to see a pic with the 3 of them next to each other so I could be wrong.
what I ment by closer was by looking at the first pic the trucks are offset by several inches yea I know it was a candid shot not setup to deceive anyone I was just comenting on the view of the camera I have read quite a bit on photography and thought i'd share that bit of info. and as far as I can see in the second pic the trucks are lined up so the bumpers are even but these are just candid shots after all.
Sorry if I wasn't clear in the previous post but I'm not saying anyone is trying to deceive anyone here and i'm fairly certain that the pics weren't taken with the intent to make the MGT look bigger just saying that it could be misconstrued to look that way.
Heck I'm looking forward to having another truck to play with myself I almost picked on up myself but with the delay in the production I went out and picked up a savage in the mean time.
I'm looking forward to the reviews on this truck be they good bad or indifferent I personally feel that it's about time there are some different trucks out in the market to finally put the tmaxx in it's place the broom closet J/K here people i'm hopeing the MGT is as tough as the savage has shown itself to be and just as nimble if not more so.
and sorry about the sig being to big didn't notice it was a bit large I'll change it in a few

I will try to get some pics of the Savage with the stock tires and body on it. That should make the comparison shots more fair to the savage.
On size alone the Savage doesn't stand a chance but the MGT will have to go a long way to be as durable as the Savage. I do love my 2!! savages but I wanted the MGT before I had either savage so I have been waiting and drooling over any info I could get on the MGT.
I managed to get the first 2 break in tanks through the MGT yesterday and it was a dream to start. I didn't bother with the elctric start I just used the primer bulb and gave it 4 jerks and it fired right up. The temps on the first tank were about 135 and on the second tank it was about 150. I am slowly bringing the temps up so I can have a long life with the engine. I will get tanks 3 and 4 through it tonight and then I can drive it around some to see how it will handle. I have no doubt that it will outhandle the Savage on the ground I am just interested to see it climb and jump. That may seperate the 2 trucks. I will let you guys know.
