In racing, we generally agree that horsepower and handling through the turns rule the track. However, if you can't slow your rocketship at the end of a straight or your brakes start to fade halfway through a long main event, you'll go wide in corners and constantly lose ground. Vertigo Performance has released their carbon fiber disc brake for the Associated Monster GT specifically to address this issue. Here's the official word from Vertigo:
"Carbon Fiber all wrapped up in 3mm of stopping power. VP uses a Quasi Grade Carbon fiber (Material is weaved Diagonally as well as Horizontally and Vertically unlike Hobby grade material other manufactures use which are only weaved vertically and horizontally) The uniqueness of this brake is the material stays consistent throughout the life of the brakes. Unlike other discs with fillers and made of softer material, the Vertigo brake will last longer with more consistent braking time after time of hard usage.
At $15.95 USD compared to as much as $25.00 USD of other products we feel the cost and the corner coming up will be much easier to handle than with other brands of brakes."
