Went to a flying field today...

I got out of school earlier than expected, so, on the way to pick up my dad, I stopped at this flying field near my lhs I always drove past. Needless to say, that was some of the most incredible stuff I have ever seen. These planes were zooming vertically for hundreds of feet, then knifing straight down and doing crazy aerobatic spins. It was very, very cool.

Also awesome was this turbine-powered plane. It sounded like a real jet and was insanely fast. There was also some Kyosho heli flying inverted inches above the ground and rising upside down...really incredible stuff. I talked to a few of the guys who basically told me to buy a sim and learn on that before even buying the plane...definitely good advice with the way I drive on the ground. :lol:

I saw them for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I thought the same as you, they are amazing.

Oh, believe me, if I could afford it I'd be flying right now. But with no job and reliable income, I'll stick to surface driving. My dad, on the other hand, has always been interested in the planes...I'll have to take him down there one day and whet his appetite. :lol:
