Because that's a video from the company, I am sure they have been editted to the max to show only good things about it, having videos of everyday people would show the MQ in its element. At least that's why I would want more movies.

I have been MIA on the 18th scene for awhile but I am getting back into it quickly and will be picking up a MiniQuake today :D Going to try all the Mambas in it along with different nimh/lipoly combos to see what works best. And you know I will be making some crazy videos of it in action (both stock and brushless) I should have them done by this weekend and will post them up as soon as they are. Thanks

Troy, let us know what pinion/spur you used. Not necessarily the number of teeth, but the brand and whatnot. Someone tried to mount a mamba over on one18th and discovered that the stock pinion's shaft hole is too large for the mamba's shaft. And all the pinions that DO fit a mamba don't mesh with the stock MQ spur gear. I suggested using an M18 spur, but can't be sure it will work on the MQ. I'm actually going to try mounting mine tonight and see if an M18 spur will fit.

Also, let us know how long the driveline lasted (in seconds if need be  ). Last I heard, people were killing the outdrives with just a better battery pack, so I am very sure a brushless will kill it even faster. But let us know either way. And if you get it to work....let us know what tricks you use.

*yes, I'm very curious about brushless in this thing*

If all goes well, I'll have tested brushless in mine soon (but I'm keeping stock around for parts testing). Tonight hopefully. Not sure about vids though. Don't have anyone to hold the vid cam. Maybe I'll bug someone at the track later this week.

Troy - I found a way to make the stock MQ pinion work on the Mamba motor shaft. The pinion shaft hole is only slightly larger than the Mamba motor shaft. So what I did was wrapped it in a layer of clear packing tape (its what I had lying around...I'm sure regular tape will do...just as long as its not thick tape). Now the pinion fits right over the motor shaft with little to no play. Just thought I would pass on this info.

Hello CoolJoe, I was thinking the exact same thing. Its only shy by .3mm so just a wrap of tape should be fine. I am itching to slap the Mamba in it now but I have to wait until I get speeds recorded with the stock setup.

So far I am VERY impressed with this little beast. Handles like the 1/10 scale. :D The 8 oil shocks and Ball Bearings pre-installed is a nice touch. I see it quickly becoming my favorite off-road truck. I have two off-road tracks within 15 miles of us and I can wait to try it out there with the Mamba.

Looks like the E-tec 1200, Thunder Power 1320, & E-tec 2400ma packs fit easily into the MiniQuake. I will be offering some combos with all the packs that test out well. Thanks
