Click here to view the full version : Savage Gears??
I have read that the metal gears from a Savage 25 would fit into the monster gt tranny. Has anyone tried this recently? If you have, how much work was involved? I am considering this because I would like to upgrade my engine but I do not want to blow my trans.
Also, as far as engine upgrades go, has anyone ever ran a wasp .28 in their monster?? What were the results?

I got more pics on my site http://www.freewebs.com/bdeezy/

hey mate, ive just snapped my 2nd RRP steel spur setup, there just isnt enough strength in the 3 little tabs, whereas the savage spur is solid.
Any chance of giving us a link to what is needed and is there any modifying needed to make it fit? Thanks mate
Sweet! I too have gone through 2 RRP's (crap design), and have been using the stock setup for a while...
LINKS!
sorry i made the part myself

eh? U just said it was a savage spur, and the slipper pads etc look standard. What part did u make yourself, and what ever u did can u tell me what u did, as i have access to every machining tool available :)
yea... just to let u know you dont need the little black slippers......
take the little gold piece that goes in the (MGT)spur gear and set it on top of the steel spur gear(Savage) "so you can measure it" or get a drill bit that is just barley bigger than than the gold piece so that it will slide in and out of the steel spur gear once drilled ... with the right drill bit take the steel gear to the drill press and go to work......(Run Cold Water Over The Gear So It Won't warp.. because metal to steel makes heat)

nice, sounds easy enough mate. Im guessing u use the savage slipper pads to get the slipper action, or have u just made it a solid spur by tightening the nut up tight so the slipper plates are pressed hard against the steel spur?
how many teeth on the savage spur gear.is it a stock part?
52 i think.... yea itz stock
