Dying Chrome bumpers

I stripped chrome off bumpers, and dyed them black. Looks good and easy to do. If any of you have dyed wheels it is done like that. I assume any color will work

Now does the chrome stay on??? Do you have any pictures?

No, chrome needs to come off. I used paint stripper. Be sure to get all of it off, chrome will not die. Dont have any pics yet, but it doesn't look cheap like chrome, and stays black well. Im in process of getting digital camera set up. If you have an old one, try it and see. Be sure you bring water/dye to a boil, or it will not work.

Not the actual bumpers, the chrome bumper inserts. You know what I'm talking about if you own MGT . A&E calls them bumper extensions.

You just work on your friends, right?? I think I read that somewhere before. Do you not like MGT??? or what. I also work on other peoples stuff, mainly my buddies savage. MGT is far easier to work on. Everybody has their opionions on MGT, some like it some don't. I think any rc car/truck is like real car/truck, they have minds of their own. It all depends on how you take care of them too. I have two MGT's, and one savage. The first Mgt i bought was great, the second is tore up a lot, but I race it. The savage is also been good too, but not for racing. Any kind of change on savage is very aggravating. MGT has everything easily accessible. In my opinion MGT is best all around truck, but some are better in certain areas.

RIT fabric dye in any color from wal mart or a fabric store.

Yeah, like he said rit dye. The liquid to me seems to work better than powder though. Have fun!

lol...I take all of my bumpers off...sounds like too much trouble to me.
