Hmm, try using brass tubing and stong modeling solder. There is an issue 1 or 2 months back in RCCA that the guy built a custom rock-crawler chassis out of this.

you can make one using flat aluminum bars,quite a few people are running variations of the one shown in the following link,it should give you an idea for a starting point....
