Hey guys, I have decided to get a mini lst. I know that it comes with a charger and a battery, but I am sure that I will need to get a few more batteries and a faster charger. What battery packs should I look at? What is a good charger? Are there fast chargers available for 12v dc current? I am new to electric r/c so I am in the dark with some of my options of batteries and chargers. Also, where is the best place to order a mini lst? Thanks in advance.
There are lots of brands that make after market batteries. Really any Gp 1100-1300 mah or Ib batteries will be great. Here are acouple that would be good http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLCC7&P=0 , http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLCC5&P=0 , http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLFX6&P=0 ,
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJUY3&P=0 those ones you need to build them .......these are also some great batteries these are the ones i suggest and i have heard they are great there is even a review on here http://unitedrc.com/store/product.asp?BrandId=7&ID=192 or these http://unitedrc.com/store/product.asp?BrandId=7&ID=141 if you find anything else then gp or ib are great. Yes there are fast chargers that can charge froma 12v dc outlet and these are called DC chargers. To start out i would recommend this charger http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAVN1&P=ML btu you will need to put a fan on it also that charger can only go down to 5 mv (mv is the delta peak which is a special setting that detects a small voltage drop when teh battery si done chargeing) mini car packs need about 3mv to get the most accurate charge. so this one can do 3mv http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCLD5&P=ML Really it depends on your price range those are mid range and you can get higher quality chargers for more $$$ like this one http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHDJ1&P=ML all of those chargers can be powered by a 12v dc current. I would suggest either your local hobby shop or http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0215 you can even get one off ebay used or brand new but they will be around $180-$200 brand new. If you need anything else or more explaining just let me know.peace ethan
