Johnny.J and Rustyfella along with a few others frequently browse.
Not trying to plug a site but www.ausmicro.com has nothing but Aus people, and a few over there have some 1/10 rigs. Look for ph2t or betty.k.
Hey new to these forums just reading up on what everyone does to their R/C Trucks...
If you read/seen a magazine called Racing Lines it has racing dates on the second last page...i got this magazine recomended to me from a guy at a hobby shopin Melbourne
Its an australian mag to and very good to read helps you out heaps

ahh thanks Methed ill look for it tommorow
i just want to go show my son a few races to start off with so he gets the idea then start to teach him to use one.
ive just got some questions
1 is the steering arms where the 5mm ball sits on i was told were wobly or is this just a factory thing and just needs an upgrade or could it be that the hole for the ball is too small and i should look for new ones.
also its running 10% fule what do i need to do to up it to say 15% and will this get me some more power as im new to all of this your help is getting me more interested.
dose anybody know where i can get some spare parts like wheels and tyres and other stuff i might need in the future.
im picking up the car next week and its going just need to get myself a bottle of fule and a starter cord the battery is comming with it but i was told to buy a new one due to it being a bit old now.
also ive read around about looking after the nitro cars my question for this is how often should i pull the car down and clean all parts then put back together.
another question is when my son drives it is there a way to make it so he dont crash may sound stupid but the last thing i want is him hitting something and braking the car.
thanks for your help guys there will proberly be plenty of questions to come but thats about all i can think of for now.
thanks racemania81
ps i had to register another name because i forgot my pass and put the wrong email down
sorry.
also added a new pic
As far as fuel go i think its just as it wears in...
I personally dont know yet as i havent even built my Giga Crusher yet because its on lay-by atm...
For spare parts go to your local hobby shop, they should have all you need...I know this doesnt help you out but in Melbourne their is this great shop on Flinders St, and the guy that does all the R/C work is really friendly and really helps you out.
Sorry i cant help you out any further
my Giga Crusher im purchasin wont be completed till end of August cause thats when ill be getting it.
thanks
Methed ;)

Welcome mate!
Your local hobby shop should have some spares and fuel and stuff for you, and if they dont carry the parts you need or want, im sure they'll try and get them for ya, when it comes to cleaning your car, I usually do general maintence every time I use mine, just get and old tooth-brush or paintbrush and "dust" all the dirt that you find on the car, every so often you should lube up the bearings and generally check for parts that are severely worn or broken.
Also you may have already been told but with nitros after every time they have been used, they need all the fuel taken out of the engine system (including tank) then take out the glow-plug and squirt some WD-40 in the chamber, have a few tugs of the chord then do it a few more times, next put the glow-plug back in. Now the air filter, im not sure how often it must be cleaned with on-road cars, but with my nitro off-roader i clean it after every hour of runtime, to clean it just take out the foamy bit, and wash it in some soapy water and rinse thoroughly, and make sure it completely dries!
I used to get racing lines but they dont sell it where I live (Broken hill). If ya have any other Q's just ask! :) ;)

sounds good, nothing beats the "plug and play" style of reliability of eletric, but then nitro power is cool too,

Hows it goin buddy? I'm from Albury as well along with a few others on here. Races are every 3rd sunday of the month on the Causeway. You'll get some good help over there if your looking to race.
I'm a tad rusty on R/C's at the moment, but if you have a drill with a large enough chuck then you could start your car with that for now. There are other means of starting by using the Tiger Drive which connects to your drill and to the crank of the engine. This is different to directly starting by using the drill because it allows the engine to freespin at its own pace. Not by the drills pace.

hey nice too see an albry person here lol
with the drill thing how do you mean i cant seem to get it close enough to the back plate to give the car a good spin ive got a pic of how the motor sits i really want to get it going as my TG10 wont be going for a bit. i even went to the lhs and found out they got 1 pullstart but its $50 and i dont really want to spend that much on a pull start, so one of the guys there said theres a few ways to try first he said try get a bike preferably a racer and give it a good spin upside down and drop the flywheel ontop i havent tried this yet, so i was thinking if a race bike wheel could work maybe i could use somthing of about the same width as a bump box with a nice motor in there for those days when i need to get one of my cars going, so i went to all the hardware stores but couldnt find anything, you guys got any ideas.
i also got told i could buy a ezstart thing but might have to order it in for my motor.
is there anything that is easy i could take the motor off and start it that way then just drop it back into place once going but seems hard to keep the throtle at idle while its off the car i dont know i might be a little tired to see what ive got to do but if anything you think could work let me know thanks..

It's a TC that's why you can't fit a drill in there. My bad.
Bumper starters or starter boxes are probably the best way to start a nitro as they overcome flame out generally because they turn the engine over quicker then your hand. The only downside to a starter box is they are expensive. The box itself might be around $100 and then you have to fork out for 2x stickpacks.
It's probably best to order off www.towerhobbies.com

thanks guys got a pullstart for it cost me $50 but now i have trouble tuning it so im going to have to find som1 who knows how to do it,
i got a mate at the local track who i might ask or i can take it to the lhs and ask them.
do you know if theres a race meet this week or is it next week cause i know the track is closed when they are racing i think its onroad on the 1st sunday of the month and offroad on the 3rd sunday of the month.
was hoping to get some practice in this weekend.
thanks for your help
