Not very good, the nitro 2 strokes require backpressure to perform at their peak.

Not good, it's like real racing. A very talented drag racer who's name escapes me once stated "If your car is making noise, it's not making horsepower". ANd he's right. The loss of backpressure would cause alot of the explosion to take place in the header, when it should be in the cylinder. This would cause a loss of power.

It needs the muffler on there to provide pressure to the fuel tank. Without it, it would run very lean if it ran at all. Noise is not cool, makes the rest of us in the hobby look bad.

and a 434 isnt a small block, atleast i think it isnt.

Uhhh I think it is ported?

All I have heard of is 402, 427, and the the occasional 424.

Two stroke engines love pipes. Keep it on. If you want more power, invest in a tuned pipe set-up.

A 4 stroke can run good with little back pressure.Like your chebby ingine.I to have a FORD 545 that will spin 8500 RPM in a mud truck. It dynoed at 825 horse with open headders.HOWEVER that is a 4 stroke.A 2 stroke needs a little back pressure to be perfect.

I did once make a open pipe with small copper tubing for my MAXX 2.5 and it had no back pressure orthe fule pressure line and it did good.I couldnot tell much difference.I do think the tuned pipe has more power and if your racing it the pressure line will make for a more reliable/consistant run.

Ok Guys, There Is Such Thing As A 454 Small Block. But Its Not All Chevy. It Uses A Dart Tall Deck Block For All The Huge Stroke And Is Bored Bigger Than U Can Bore Any Stock Block. The Famous Racer Was Smokey Unick And That Only Applies To Smaller More Stock Engines. Not Only That But It All Depends On The Engine, Intake Cam, Exhaust An Lots More. Yes Most Engines Like A Little And I Stress Little Back Pressure For Cylinder Scavenging. But 2 Stroke Needs It. 2 Stroke Depends On Cyl Scavanging To Make Peak Hp. If U Need Further Info Look It Up. Go To Any Reputable Drag Racer, Or If U Cant Do That, Go To Barns And Knobles And Pic Up A Book. By The Way, The Way U Measure C.i. Is Bore X Bore X Stroke X # Of Cyl. Thats How U Get Some Of Those Big A$$ Small Blocks.

The biggest small block is a 472 CI chevy style engine.Higher cam location and all the machineing you can imagine.I prefere Big Blocks myself.

This thread has been hijacked.

You can run that 2 stroke withought a muffler if you want but it will not run its best.Try it and see for your self. That is how I did it.

just have fun getting it to run. youll get very little fuel to your carb and your engine will be over heating. i ran a A main and my pipe fell off cause somone hit it. i ran the whole thing with no pipe and it got to like 350 degrees lol.
