I want to upgrade the broken stock servo on my rustler to a metal one, but am not willing to spend any more than about forty. First, is it worth it to get a metal one for the price and if so, which ones are good for my price range? I found afew:

Hobbico CS-70MG Servo Super Torque 2BB U (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0095p?FVPROFIL=++&FVSEARCH=CS-70MG&FVPROFIL=++)

Hitec HS-645MG Servo Torque Metal Gear J (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUZ90&P=7)

Both are in my price range and have about the same specs, but which should I get or possibly another one for about $40. Thanks.

metal gear servos rule, the only time i ever broke one was when i was teaching my friend howto solder. i told him to cut the motor wires, and he cut the servo wires. anyways, i highly recomend the hitec. i have used about 3 other brands, but i'm more satisfied with the hitec servos. i have never used a hobbico steering servo, and i've never heard anything about how well they work.

Are those fast enough for racing, or no? What about bashing with a 13t?

I've used the Hobbico CS-70MG in both my nitro sport and my T-maxx, and I've been very satisfied. I only bash with my cars so I can't vouch for the speed of the servo on the race track, although I've never had a problem making tight quick turns.

Thanks everyone, but i think that by now my real question is which brand is better. does anyone have any positive or negative things to say about either brand?

I'm thinking the Hitec, now. :) Jordan, if you're going to gt stuff from Tower, let me know first.

i think JR makes a metal gear servo thats ~$40

random note:
u can get an Orion pilot 13x2 motor for $8 at tower

Woah! $8! Why so cheap? Oh well. :)

I have decided to get a Hitec, because I heard good things about the brand, but I just went to tower and discovered that there were two $40 servos, one more torque-oriented and the other for speed. I don't know what the difference or importance od each of these things is. So I'm asking you which one I should get. I mainly bash on my street, but when a get a new esc i may get into a racing (not a good chance cause the track is so far away). Anyway, which servo would you recommend. Here are the links:

Hitec HS-645MG Servo Torque Metal Gear J (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXUZ90&P=7)

The torque servo will mean that it is harder for the wheels to be turned against the servo's will, and the speed one will transition to a position faster. I hope this made sense...

Hmmm..... Give me a minute to figure out what that meant but which one should I buy?

If the 625 has more than 70 0z of torque, get that one, if its faster.

Go for the speed it should have plenty of torque for the Rustler with stock size tires on it. If you put Stampede tires on it or bigger get the Torque servo. I went for torque for my stampede because I want to put Maxx Wheels and tires on it.
