Wow...someone posted something about this and the first thing that comes to mind is all the past issues with the MGT will be solved. It will weigh less and the drive trane will hold up better....this could be interesting!!!

Shoot I can see a OStz or TM or even the LRP .18 going in that sucker and running it all day long on a tank. Maybe even a Werks B3Pro would be great to fit in it...
So was this thing designed to be a Revo killer?

lol , a thunder tiger product , a revo killer ? I know you guys all love the MGT but come on...
This thing looks sweet, I agree but it's obviously aimed at the T-Maxx.

I disagree strongly. it's completely 100% IMHO put on the market to compete with the revo in the MT class. all AE cares about is winning races. with a few changes(tires and engine) this truck will give a revo a run for it's money, but i think will even be better. it's a matter of time before this truck sits on top of the podium in the MT class.

Fine. Time will tell. The MGT was never for winning races. And as far as I can tell, the trucks that are winning championships are actual AE designs, not Thunder Tiger makeovers. This thing looks more like a basher to me ( and a frail one at that ) than a racer. I could be wrong though, but I don't think Revos and LSTs will be dethroned soon in the monster truck class...especially not by a T-maxx design TT product.
It looks like a t-max competitor to me. But I guess we'll find out.

You're saying this as if TT makes low quality products? LOL .. and, as far as it being "frail", how could anyone know? We haven't even seen a body off pic yet!

thunder tiger are not crap mate. There motors are one of the most reliable motors on the market, last forever, and provide pretty decent power
There helicopters are some of the best. Yes some of there products are pretty dodgy, but they have some great products to.
And u cant say its weak just yet, a truck can have pretty thin arms etc. its the quality of the plastic that says if its weak, hopefully its good nylon. :)

I'm not saying they are making low quality products. What I am saying it's this truck is far from a revo or LST killer IMO.
I thought I had posted in this thread the nuds pics but seems like I've posted in another thread ( my bad )

Now please, don't tell me this looks rugged, or even near a revo killer design ...

isnt the the TT hammer a 1/12 scale? and you say all this acting like the revo is rugged. every REAL bashing forum i frequent, i read all kinds of post of revo's breaking. anyway. i dont know what your goal is here, trying to put down a MGT in the MGT FORUM. only time will tell, and i have a feeling i'll be the one saying, "hah, told ya so!"
So was this thing designed to be a Revo killer?
I guess I should re-phrase my original question. What I was really wondering was how Associated was going to market this and who the target buyer they are going after. Judging from the input here I can already see there is some skepticism as to whether this is a race bred design. It is interesting that AE has put so much effort into their other racing classes with the TC5 and RC8B and then re-release a smaller scale version of their MGT as a pure basher? I'm with the other AE fans here. I'm going to hope for the best and take a wait and see approach with it.

TT says it's a 1:12 scale. AE says it's 1:10 scale. I'm not acting like the revo is rugged, it's a race design that is TOUGHER than the MGT, at least for me.
You say you frequent bashing forums, that's all cool, but do you own both ? I own a Revo 3.3 and I've had my MGT ( which is far from stock ) for 2 years, I like both, but I can't deny that the Revo is far more advanced, is a better design, is tougher and can run rings around my MGT on every terrain they both tackle.
Don't worry, I was a member of the old MGT forums and I'm not here to spit down on one of my favorite trucks, I was simply reacting to the " this truck could give a Revo a run for it's money " " and revo-killer thing".
I think people just don't get AE has 2 kind of products. True racebreds and borrowed designs ( which the MGT is ) . I'm pretty sure that if AE wanted to make a true race MT, they would succeed given their previous attempts at other classes.
Now you have it, I'm not a hater, far from it. I'm just logical I guess :D
Right now the LST2 and Revo are kicking the MGT's bleep on the track. I cant wait to see one of these things up close and see if it is good enough to compete with the LST and Revo.
