I want to learn how to fly one, I have never flown any type of R/C before. From the shops I have been talking to and remarks from other customers, saying the best way to learn is get the Real flight simulator G2, saw a demo of it and dose look like a great way to learn, vary realistic looking controls and graphics.
Been hearing mixed opinions about having never flown before it would be easier to learn to fly because the controls are different then with fixed wing and I wouldn't be reverting back to fixed wing habits.
I知 looking into getting a .30 size, any suggestions on what model and radio system would be good for a beginner, I don稚 really want to the cheapest but not the most expensive ether. Would like to do some acrobatic and stuff with it when I get better at it.
Thanks for your input, all comments welcome. :D

I like the Kyosho Nexus .30. It's very nice and upgradeable. Me myself, I have never actually flown one without a buddy link but it was soooo much fun. They are extremely touchy though. Still a wonder to fly. Good luck.
The nexus is a nice one, :) I was looking into a .30 size but after seeing a.50 size in action, I知 sold. So I知 going to go with the Raptor 50 V2 which are coming out with the carbide blades now and has the TT 50 engine. Also going with the Hitec Eclipse with Spectrum module. Where I知 going to be flying, I found some guys that have been flying a long time one has been doing it since almost the beginning and he is a factory rep. and he is going to help me set it up and be my trainer.
I wouldn't consider myself a flyer yet but I have flown one of these

Hi wand welcome to the sites.
Vary nice, I知 looking into a 60 or 50 Raptor. Just picked up RealFlight G2 Simulator with the Raptor add-on and want to master it before I decide on what I want to get.
I picked up a freeware flight sim on line but I need a cord to connect between my computer and my Futaba trainer port. Any ideas where I could get 1?
Does anyone know where i can find electric helicopters other than micros and the Kyosho Concept EP? Been lookin everywhere and havent been able to find anything.:(

I have a Nexus 30 with A-grade equipment and it's a darn good machine. It's good for beginners, and can be tuned to do aerobatics and stuff too. That said, the Thunder Tiger Raptor 30 is also a good heli, It costs less because it's Taiwanese but it is a very good 3D flier. All the guys at the flying field have them.
Flying helo is a blast, remember the bigger the chopper the easier it is to fly, 60 size alot easier than say a 30 size, the smaller they get the more responsive it is.
Also you can't fly until you master hovering, simulators will help out a lot there, if you can hover in a simulator you can hover pretty quicky and get to flying.

I got the .30 Hawk Sport as well with the OS .32. I LOVE IT!! I'm running full JR electronics with a 410t gyro and a 6102 radio. I've learned on it and still enjoy flying it now. Future plans include putting an Airwolf fuse on it........but who knows.......ENJOY!!
