Expected street price is right around $200, confirmed by Traxxas at RCX.

Awesome, now I have something to tell the guy at my LHS how much it'll be. He wants the new Slash and the E-Revo (and apparently he's getting both).

fingers crossed, but they probly do, all they need to do is paste vxl on the box and screw in the vxl system. 200 is a decent price, i may get one... depends on the revo, and how much i can get one for.

The VXL version wouldn't be just a motor upgrade. It'll likely also include adjustable turnbuckles on all corners and not just for the steering links. Bearings will also fill out the hub carriers instead of bushings. Maybe some different tires will be swapped in to help the VXL system get traction (though there will still be a massive lack of it, thanks to the horrendous power of brushless).

They probably will make a Vxl version they did with the Pede, Rusty, Bandit well at least hope they do.

Why wait? Just get a vxl system. The tranny on the slash is all ready for it. Bearings, Carriers and your good.

From the Slash site:

Heavy-Duty Hub
Carriers & Steering Blocks
The Slash features heavy-duty ball bearing front steering blocks and rear hub carriers. They utilize large 5x11mm ball bearings for long-term precision performance, smooth operation, and increased durability.

Adjustable Steel Turnbuckles
Factory fitted, heavy-duty steel turnbuckles allow camber and toe tuning. The Slash is completely adjustable right out of the box to fine tune handling agility and high-speed performance. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they simply won't pop off.

Well then i guess the only thing missing is the motor and ESC.

maybe the stampede will be replaced. when is this thing hitting the streets?

But it's usually quite a bit cheaper to buy the vehicle with it than buy it seperatley.

should be here any day now... parts for it are up on tower and such, with order pending... id say a month maximum till its in ur hands...

and yeah, it will be alot cheaper to get it with the vxl, specially since by then the price will of come down a bit... if you can wait then i would, but some ppl here are very impatient, lol

Those parts have been up on Tower for about 2 weeks, though. The Traxxas rep at RCX said expect a "late May" ship date for the trucks

I hope against all things that the Stampede will NOT be replaced. It's a legend in its own right and it's a great beginner's truck. With aftermarket support it's also a truck that can grow with you. I think as long as it sells well, Traxxas will continue making the 'Pede.

Yeah, the 'pede is probably gonna sell well for quite a while to come. I don't really even know of a truck vaguely similar to it, other than the WK...

As for the Slash...You guys are only thinking one brushless motor? It's the size on an E-maxx! It could HAUL on two VXL systems! There's definitely room on that huge chasis!

TheJANG

It's, the size of an extended Pede  It would disintegrate on two VXLs

Hmmm...

HV Novak single, then?

It is? Pardon. It looked HUGE in all the RCX videos I've seen!

Remember, it's almost ALL in the body...

The wheelbase is stretched, arms are standard Rustler (electric front, nitro rear - if I remember right).
