can I use a Transmission from MGT 8.0 in a mgt 4.6

what is the different in the Transmission

yes with some modification, the 8.0 is stronger.

Hey there,

The tranny fits right in, no mods necessary and features all metal gears, bigger internal parts for more strength and better outdrive cup designs.

It all fits perfectly, unless you want FOC, then you need some modification. Not much at all though

It seems Ae is taking there sweet time with the foc for the 8.0

I haven't seen any problems with the tranny. I got two pack through it and it was absolutely solid!

the difference is the internals are FULL metal in the 8.0 transmission, whereass in the 4.6 the 2-speed gears are still plastic. They also use bigger shafts inside the 8.0 transmission...and other random parts have been beefed up.

u have to drill a few holes in the chassis to mount the spur gear support piece
but other then that its direct bolt on

Yeah, I'm using the 8.0 spur. You don't NEED the spur support, it's just, well, extra support to reduce the risk of torque moving the gear changing the mesh.

I've been using 2x the power a nitro has with no problems... Ok, not 2x, but way more than the TTR or Axial had and it's fine.
