Click here to view the full version : FINALLY my big box o' Traxxas Slash arrived
Picked up the big box from FedEx this morning. Talk about a painfully long wait. I'll be breaking 'em open tonight. Just got confirmation a couple minutes ago from another PayPal RC'er that the local track is looking to do a Slash class. Already saw good ole' Badboy (2002 J-SPEC Rally Champion!) posting on the news thread too. Much fun to come!

i got mine yesterday and my battery wont be here for about a week so all im doing with my slash is rolling it around on my workbench making motor noises. VROOOOOOOM, VROOOOOOM.
I got mine on Tuesday, but because of work & the like I have not hooked up a battery yet. I did install the aluminum caster blocks & steering rack. I also peeled off the hideous fake headlight decals to find a second, all black headlight cover decal that was much more to my liking. I do wish they had let me put the other decals on myself, because there are a lot of bubbles to smooth out. They glued the foam battery spacer in the tray so that I will have to rip it out when I go 7cell later. Aside from that, I love everything about it and will be doing some minor mods tonight & tomorrow night in preparation for running it over the weekend.

why dont u just get a hump pack or are u looking for a lower center of gravity, because that peice of foam is really in there good. or atleast mine is.
Any NiMh packs I get in the future will be side-by-sides, not stick packs. I'm tired of spending my money on shotgun packs with expensive cells but cheap assembly. I will probably go LiPo after buying 2 more NiMhs.
The foam spacer is held in by the battery strap on the Slash, so there is no need to use adhesive - my E-Maxx #3905 has foam spacers that have adhesive on one end, but they left peel-off paper over it so that you could decide if and how you wanted to use them.
I will probably remove it and clean the adhesive off the chassis with solvent and cut a square of some extra foam I have laying around to replace it. If I can remove it without ruining it, I may clean the original foam with solvent and reuse it.
BTW- has anyone noticed the cool blue shock bumpers on the rear shocks of the Slash? Much nicer than little lengths of fuel tubing for protection from hard, bottomed-out landings...I want more of them for my other R/Cs (and the front shocks, of course!)
