I have an old Futaba Attack stick radio, and am having some weird problems. On both channels, the radio has small "dead" spots, where it acts like the stick is in the neutral position. I think that there are bad contacts on the sticks, and that they just need to be cleaned, but I don't know how to do this.

And since I am sure someone will ask: No, I have not tried different crystals, but if I can get a hold of a set, I will.

Does your radio have a throttle neutral adjust? If so, you can adjust it to either an esc or msc, whichever you have. I am not very knowlegable in the radio field, so just try it and see if it works. I don't even know if stick radios even have a throttle neutral adjust.

How confident are you in your fine mechanical skills? You can take apart the controller's outer housing and nothing will fall apart inside. There will be a large assembly at the top which keeps the trigger assembly and a piece of circuit board together. You can unscrew this from the outer case and then get to 2 or 3 screws which hold the trigger assembly (or the part it fits into) to the PC board. Under there, you should see a radial arrangement of small metal contacts, probably bronze-colored. Clean those off, and try to pull out the spring contact on the trigger assembly just a little (and clean it too) so that more force will be applied to the contacts.

Hope this makes some sense, and helps!
