Which is better? AM or FM? Should I use a lower frequency? Would putting a longer antenna on the Rx and Tx help range?
Fm is better, but not always needed. Usually FM radios are more feature packed than am's but unless your radio gliches a lot or the range is short for some reason an FM system probably wont seem any different. I had always used an AM system and it gliched every one and awhile but then I used an FM system and the only difference that I could tell was the glitching was gone. If you have enough money I would say go for it.

AM is not as clear of a frequency as FM is but for bashing AM is the best bang for the buck. I run JRxr2's and I LOVE them. I can't tell any glittching. But it also all depends on where you live. Not many radio towers around here and I suspect that could cause some interference!
As Zip3400 was saying FM is much better and more costly. as for your other questions: If you are getting glitching you may want to try a different Frequency for the area you are in, not necessarily a lower one. as for the antenna lengths most antennas are made at a 1/4 wavelength for the Freq. the radio uses 27 MHZ or 75 MHZ, That is why you should not cut your receiver antenna down it will change the wavelength and could cause problems. Well hope this helps Ya and if you have anymore questions just let me know. :D

i use am and its just fine, never glitches :)
It all depends on the type of radio equipment in your area, like for me I live close to an Air Force Base and they use allot of radio equipment and AM was always glitching. have had no problems with FM. :D

Ive dealt with a few different AM radios and freqs. and I found the FUTABA systems to be the best bang for the buck and durability*dropped mine who knows how many times) and VERY VERY clear signals. Also 27MHz will ussually get alot more interferance than 75MHz which I run now and have ran next to electrical stations no prob. :D
i use a kyosho perfex transmitter and a hitec receiver on my project t3. works perfect :)

I use a Kyosho Perfex on my pede at 27.045 on A.M. I live right next to an airport, and I was getting Glitches on 75.790 A.M. No more glitches. :D Of course on my other Rx that I was getting Interference on, the antenna is nicked slightly.

Display is great for only 100 bucks. and I run 1 on 27 and 1 on 72
do you mean 27 on a reciever and 72 on transmitter? if thats what you ment how would that work, makes no sence to me
To me it sounds like he has two radio systems one on 27 MHZ and one on 75 MHZ.
