I recently talked to Thedude due to some frusterations with the tranny outdrive cups. I have bought several sets of ebay including the so called 7075-T6 aluminum cups as well as titanium. First the aluminum cups broke and I thought fine, I'll spend the $50 and get some titanium ones. Needless to say, five tanks in and they wear out and the entire axle falls out in the front, then the rear. This was driving fairly light around the yard with a few small jumps.

So after talking to TheDude he has said if enough members are interested he can manufacture some for a decent price. Honestly, this would be an upgrade well worth the money. Go through some stock cups and before you know it they are payed for.

So hopefully some people here realize that the the cups on ebay aren't made of the material they say they are. TheDude isn't trying to steal our money like all those companies using China to make them as cheap as possible.

If anyone is interested please just post in this thread.
thanks:)

Sweet... Hopefully others will jump in soon as well. Wish I would of had these a long time ago. I have spent proably double the cost of these experimenting with those ebay cups.

Not sure on a price yet but hopefully TheDude can give us an estimate.
The more people who buy, the cheaper it is...

Okay I just talked to TheDude and he is going to make 5 sets himself for those who want them. They will be $65 for a set. (one rear and one front) Please nobody say they want them that are not actually willing to purchase them. TheDude still has many a arm mounts left because of this.

There are currently 2 sets still available.

Braden- 1 set
MEDic- 1 set
akyrddog- 1 set

It will be a batch of 4 due to scheduling.
I finished the lathe work on the rear cups tonight.
I am off of work tomorrow for veterans day so I will try to get the lathe work done on the front cups, unless I spend the whole day in the recliner watching all my WWII DVDs!! "Fire and maneuver!"

I believe he said $65...
That is fast. Didn't expect you to even start for a while. lol

Thanks for your support guys. I'll hook you up.

It is still the standard price. $65 for a set, (one front, one rear).
The "4th", or extra set is always a consideration in case a mistake is made in the machining. I do this so I always make sure I have enough for who asked for them. So,, hopefully I won't make TWO mistakes! hahaha.

BTW. Just FYI on my tranny cups.
tecK still has the original prototypes I sent him. No problems in over a year of bashing.
Like any quality product decision,,, You can pay more now, one time, or pay a little less several times. Do the math, yep.

Just to confirm, I assume this will fit my MGT 8 ?

I don't have a need for it yet, (preventative maitenance) but this will be a good test for using the Dudes parts in the future. From what I read this part will be essential in the longevity of my transmission. i always support independant business if the product tests well.

Dude, do you have a website that I can see your products?

I havent seen you at the T.A MGT forums

Thanks!

These cups WILL NOT fit the 8.0. Only the 4.6 models. The 8.0 has a larger CVD and pin.

Are you planning on mounting them on the 8? I can send you a trial set for this.

Braden

They should fit the 8.0. I have an 8.0 transmission and the output shafts are the same size. In fact I can almost gurantee they will fit.

Like Braden, I can't state with 100% certainty that TheDude's tranny cups will fit the 8.0 transmission, but I'm 99.9% certain they'll fit. The output shaft diameter is a constant 6mm from the original MGT all the way to the MGT8.0, so if it fits one it should fit the other. Regardless, you can't beat TheDude's offer to test a trial set.
