In my youth I once watched what to this day, remains the best racing action i ever witnessed. It was mid eighties and i think it was a very early "hobby habit racing" meeting, a big one (S.Aust). Many different shapes and wheelbases like there was hotshots, hoppers, hotdogs, cats, topforces, even a mardave cobra! amongst many others...Kind of like watching Bathurst then/now, i would rather see a xu-1 take on a shaker than the completely identical cars goin round today.
I was positioned at the end of the straight/sweeper into hairpin, That was it, I was completely hooked.
Then Nitro came along :( and completely took over offroad in S.Aust. The only outlet for elec fan(atics) became onroad.. Now that has only 1 or 2 clubs left also!!
So you can imagine how happy all us elec to the bone types are about the brushless kicking Nitro but! Now we just need to get 1/10 offroad back out of storage and get to the 1 or 2 remaining tracks/clubs. Say 4 or 5 people went to the HobbyHabit track complex at Days Rd Adel. with 1/10 offroad elec during a meet, We would get our 5 min of fame and they would even let us restore that class of racing during there typical nitro schedule..
Im afraid i may have to look at a 1/8 chassis and then brushless to participate these days!!
Band together 1/10 elec fans, or we will all be re-investing in chassis "yet again"..... Tamiya4Life
