Jsut cut the plug off the esc and change it. Thats what I did.

How much do all the parts to convert a Slash 4x4 into a Backslash cost? (minus the actual Slash itself.)

I did mine cheap. You can get a body for $25 bucks,wing was 15. the wheel adpaptors are 30ish . The biggest price is tires and rims. I bought mine off a pro racer that lives near me for $20 bucks. If your bashing you could find knock off tires on ebay with rims pretty cheap. If your going to race it it will cost more. Motor,esc,steel axles. I mounted my wing using the rear body mount. I have a 1\8 buggy mount but I felt it put the wing up to high. I spend time upside down.lol If you want my details pm me and Ill tell you how I did it.

I put my body posts on the side of the chassis. It keeps the body from parachuting.

can the vxl-3s handle the castle creations 1410 4 pole motor

I have read on different forums that people have used up to a 120amp esc on 4s with that motor. Im just not sure how it would handle the heat and I didnt see a follow up on where it lasted of melted down to a pile of goo. I called castle and they told me not to go over 2s. I would try it but I dont have any 3s batterys.

Ok so i bought a slash 4x4 plat. about a month ago.....kind of figured out i am not an SCT fan boy. So now i am slowly working on my Slash 4x4 change over to 1/8th buggy. I have ordered all the parts for the traxxas lcg setup through my local hobby store also picking up some 4s lipo packs and an RX8/ 2250kv motor set up. I picked up the traxxas 17 mil hex adapters and proline velocity V2 wheels with proline holeshot M2 tires..I am still undecided on the wing and the body for this build.

The VXL3-S does not like to run any motor other than the Velineon 3500 - the real issue is it needs a 2 pole motor and has a 50K rpm limit - so here's the dilemma, with a 4 pole motor it "sees" double RPM - this means the motor can only do 25K RPM before it hits the "rev limiter"

Not only that, I have used the VXL3-s with some low KV motors (which were still no good on 3S) and it suffers so badly from cogging that I had to say forget it.
