Is the new slash 4x4 ultimate really worth it. it still does not come with the 2 most needed parts, aluminum hexes and steel driveshafts. without those 2 parts i really dont see the value there.

and if you go tekno shafts, you don't use the aluminum stock bits.. recommend the regular slash 4x4 LCG.. or find a used 4x4 and convert it to LCG...

ultimate is overpriced IMO.. actually, most traxxas RTRs are overpriced..

if your bashing it could be worth it if you dont mind the price but for racing id say hell no. There are much better options for that with the losi and tekno rigs out
Losi SCTE 4x4(Slash just couldnt cut it)
Losi Mini 8ight (its just so damn cute)
Losi 8ight T 2.0 E (1/8 scale POWER!!!!)
Axial SCX10(Something about Scalers...)

what are you trying to use it for?

do you have other cars you are comparing it to?

do you have to get an RTR, or are you willing to install electronics yourself?

Here are some options worth considering:

Club Racer: SCT + eBuggy + GT8e + GT18e + USGT
Basher:
Monster Trucks + Crawlers + Drifters + Motorcycles

i want to use it for on road and some baseball diamonds. i dont make an incredible amount of money, but it seemed appealing to save up for.

hmm, in that case, with light duty bashing, I think you might find great value in some of the cars from www.NitroRCX.com

They are far from high end, but most are a great bargain for the price.

Have you considered a Rally Car or Drifter?

I think this one here might be something you'd be interested in:
