Because I set my slipper clutch too tight, I stripped my idler gear (again - lol). Also my top gear on the input shaft shows a lot of wear. Is there an easy way to remove the spring pin from the input shaft, so I can take off the top gear?

The slipper shaft? Remove the slipper but and most of that stuff should readily fall off. Then just grab the pin with a pair of pliers. It is a roll pin.

I use a socket to get the top drive gear off...slide the socket over the shaft. Hit with hammer, the pin should sheer right off. (she's a tight fit~)

Also, I've had a few of those roll pins break. I replaced it with a 1/16 drill bit. (you read it right. I replaced the roll pin, with a drill bit.)



"drilled" the bit into place. then used a rotory tool to cut it to the right length. (the one shown in the photo needed a little more trimming down.)
