Hi guys,

Just wondering which Tacon motor should i get for my slash 4x4. I want to give it more ompphh!!

I am currently looking at the below two motors:
http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m215-3674-1900kv-9t.html
http://www.hobbypartz.com/96m214-3674-2800kv-6t.html

There is a video of jang running the 1900kv motor which seems pretty powerful. Would that be fine on my slahs as wel (do i need to change the esc?) ?

If you guys do you mind letting me know, would it fine to run the above motor in the 1/10th summit as welL?

I got no idea on the esc atm. Can the stock vxl esc handle it? If not probably a hobbywing or hobbyking esc. Im open to suggestion.

. Battery just 2s to 3s as usual.

lower kv for more rpms if paired with a higher voltage

oomph, are you looking for torque or high end power?

That would be pretty slow on 2s. Personally I would go with a 4 pole motor. You would need a new esc though as the stock esc doesn't like 4 pole motors. Something like this is nice

4400kv if you only use 2s. 3800kv if you want to use 3s as well.

If you want something a little closer I like my

I'm using it in my exo terra buggy and it's given me no problems. The bec is strong in it and just get a proguage later on for more programming options. Plus it's a very handy little tool.

Thanks guy. I got just want a more powerful motor in my car.

Wow syldain. Isnt the exo terra a 1/8th scale buggy which is much heavier? There does not seem to be much price difference now the ten shock is on offer for only 99 dollars with a120amp esc. Rather good deal. What do you think?

the exo is 1/10th scale. It's fairly heavy but nothing a decent motor can't handle. I think the tenshock is a good deal. Just make sure to get some 40-50c batteries for it.

i cant say how well those 2 tacon motors are, but im using the 4800kv 4pole sensored mated to a hobbywing 120amp esc. ive had to dial the power back quite a bit for my local track. im confident i could run it on a 1/8th scale track if i ran 3s. no matter how hard ive ran this setup, the motor has never gotten over 135-140 and thats with no heatsink. ive used this setup for over a month and im very satisfied with tacon/hobbywing so far.

in my opinion, i would upgrade motor and esc at the same time...that should give you all the "ooomph" youll ever want. just dont forget the program card for the esc, youll probably end up turning the power down.

I've got the 3674 2800Kv in my Backslash. It's geared to run the same speeds as the 3650 3500Kv in my other Slash. The top speeds are the same(30ish on 2S, 50ish on 3S), but the acceleration is a lot quicker with the 3674. For up to 3S, the 2800 is the way to go. Most of my driving is on 2S, on 3S, it's just silly powerful. Here's how that motor works in my Backslash on 3S:
