Since it would seem that there is no other posts related to the ECX Revenge in terms of pictures and reviews, I figured I would start one to provide some general information about the Revenge and my review of it as I begin to use it.

Here are some pictures with my Circuit standing in to show scale difference. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the Revenge is 1/8 and the Circuit is 1/10, but in my research is seems that there are some variances from one manufacturer to another on same size (scale) vehicles. Anyway, on to the pics:

I will add more pics and information over the upcoming weeks.

It really does look an awful lot like the XTM XT2e that I had.

That XT2e's electronics weren't very good. Hopefully the Dynamite stuff in the Revenge is a LOT better quality.

Time will tell on the electronics! They are suppose to be "waterproof" and the esc is rated for 130amps. I plan on changing out the connector on to the Traxxas style so it will match other batteries and the my charger.

Some other things of possible interest (or not):
The wires for the esc and motor are 12AWG
The shocks are NOT all metal - the body and caps are metal, the lower end (at the bottom of the shock) is plastic.
I went through and made sure all exposed Allen heads, nuts and screws were tight - there where several that I think benefited from another 1/4 turn or so with out actually over-tightening (especially the servo brace).
The rear wing fills like it is made from some pretty sturdy plastic - it does not feel cheap and flimsy.
The front and rear shock towers are 4mm thick.

In another thread someone was referencing the outdrive cups being made of cast aluminum. I checked them out today and I can with out a doubt state that they are NOT aluminum. The appear to be made from the same material as the drive shafts are - and are magnetic. I can not tell if they are in fact cast because I can find no cast marks on them. I removed one of them to see what I could see and I still found no signs of casting. Doesn't mean they weren't. I do not have a clue as what kind of metal they are made out of either.

However, the steering knuckles ARE cast aluminum:

The rear suspension has less metal than the front:

Which brings me to my firs dislike about the way this vehicle is constructed. Some of the nylon nuts are countersunk into the plastic (see pic below). This is okay, most of the time. But one needs to be real careful as to how much they tighten down on the bolt that these countersunk nuts are attached to because a little too much and it will damage the plastic and the nut will spin.

I remember that thread.

I think it was someone who claimed that they saw one at the hobby shop that they worked at.

Not trying to be rude, but it doesn't really surprise me that someone that works at the hobby shop gave some incorrect information about an ECX product.

If they're magnetic, I would imagine they are made of steel.

For those that may have an interest, here is a pic of the servo (Dynamite part number- DYN3905):

And here is a different view with the servo saver post assembly in the background (right side, metal cylinder with spring around it).
