Hi, this is my first thread and partially new to this awesome hobby so correct me if you can. Back to the point, I recently got a Traxxas Slash 2wd VXL and the supension is waaaayy too soft and sags alot. I've already put two big preload spacers in the rear and one medium in the front but im thinking of getting new springs and shock oil. Any Suggestions or help with this would be nice. Thanks!! Heres my truck anyways.

search is your friend - check out the many threads on here that already discuss this topic, search for terms like "suspension upgrade" and you will find plenty.

A great staring pointis JANG's slash tuning video

Great advice from tachikoma. After running a few packs through my VXL, I tried the setup from the video as a baseline. I've gone to green springs all around now, and like it better for what I'm doing, but I'm not done tuning yet.

Thank you for the advice and i was looking at losi springs but now im sure im going to get them. Also what would be a good weight shock oil because if the shock doesnt rebound and sags alot then is the oil to heavy?? And again im new to all this so dont mind my "beginner" questions

I actually ran with stock shocks plus jang spring recommendations but on 40WT oil all round with about 20mm preload on the rear and 5 mm on the front and found thatOK for the terrain mix I was on but experimentation is your friend, fun, and you'll gain a greater appreciation when you experience the differences the changes you try make - you won't do it all the time but try to remember to do things systematically rather than all at once that way you can see how the different changes work and start to put it all together. A good thing to do in my book is make a leap by doing what suggested in above (socks + oil as per jang) then run your slash and feel the big difference all that makes. then start to change just certain things and see what happenes e.g. - changes the oil at the front or the rear but not both at the same time. Hope that makes sense.

It actually makes perfect sense. One more question, would the hole placement on the a-arms make big difference.? Right now i have the front on the innermost hole and same with back. I know that if you move it outermore then there would be less travel and stiffer,so should i move it over more or is it fine? i dont think ill be doing any racing anytime soon, mostly bashing.

When I started out with my stock slash I found that outer hole up front and the 3rd hole from the inside on the rear worked better for for me - stiffens things up but you do loose travel - I think that's what the JANG suggests anyway.

I could write more but the best thing is to give it a try and see what happens.

Suspension config is a dark art

The losi spring kit I found is progressive, I thought one wanted to change to liner springs. Can someone point me in the correct direction?

Thanks
