It might be the LVC erroneously cutting in. The Velineon ESC has small / cheap capacitors that do not smooth out voltage dips / spikes and results in LVC prematurely coming on. This especially happens when driving slow at really slow speeds. I eneded up having to add this to my slash 4X4 esc and the issue did not return:

I was having this problem on Christmas Day and it took me all day to find out what was happening. I thought my batteries were no good. It turn out that on my system the car did not know I was using a lipo battery. I changed the settings and it never had that problem again. I'm no to lipo batteries and I got the ultimate version that came with a lipo so I thought it was ready to run. It was not set up to run lipo. I changed it in my iPhone and it never stop again. But I'm using the TQI

Is Venom bad to say!!! I get 25+ minutes off 25C 5400 on stock setup before my upgrades. Enough to roast a VXL motor. Just saying, 6000 mah (whatever the C rating 35?) in heavy show with heavy throttle adds up to a roast of some sorts i believe!

I believe this was very dangerous and would have damaged your batteries. You should check them before continuing to use them if you drained them multiple times on non-lipo setting. Read the LIP CARE thread in the Battery/ESC/Radio forum.

PS. .DON'T LET YOUR MOM FIND OUT HOW DANGEROUS LIPOS CAN BE!!! 1st rule of LIPO CLUB is you don't talk about LIPO CLUB!!!!

Has anyone asked if he changed the gearing, or just took the box-stock gearing, threw in 3S, and "pinned it wide open for 8 minutes." Because if it's stock gears in there, a) the snow is the only thing that stopped the electronics from exploding, and b) that runtime seems about right.
