Does anyone else run heat sinks or fans for good measure?

Having them in no way guarantees that you will not overheat components, but if you run wide open on any decent mah battery and anything 20C or higher for 15+ minutes I assure you you will have issues. Really, some sort of temperature device (handheld or onboard) and the heat sinks are a cost less than $50 that will save you $85(motor) to $150 (motor and ESC) in damage that you can cause in one pack if you are not careful.

Just purchased mine for 450 out the door. It did not come with the Lipo. It was the only one left at either of the two shops in my area.

So I am set on getting a Slash 4x4 and can't wait to get it but whats a fair price for one? My local hobby shop was asking about $450 but I have seen it cheeper else where on the web. Where did you guys get yours and is $450 a good price for one? Thanks
Regular, Platinum, Ultimate, LCG? This is a good price for Ultimate (no battery, which I recommend since you'll want LiPo, anyway): http://thebarnfloor.com/catalog/prod...oducts_id=1896

If your LHS has Ultimate for $450 that's a really good price, IMO... at least compared to my neck of the woods (CT).

I just want a base model with a lipo included. I know I am going to need to get a new charger too afterwards.
