I live in WI, it's winter, I had a long weekend and wanted something to putz with, so I made a plow for my Slash 4x4. It needs some refinement, but at a basic level, it works.

In testing, I confirmed a few things I already suspected. First, I need chains for my tires. I was going to make some anyway, I made some for my old Trenchers, but haven't got a set for the Stampede wheels yet. Second, a plow NEEDS to have a spring loaded tilt. Without one, if you hit a chunk of ice or something, the truck comes to a very abrupt stop. Fortunately, I designed a hinge into the plow mount, so I just need to add a spring and loosen the hinge screws. I'll get more pics posted when I've got it working to my satisfaction.

I like how clean cut it looks. Good job! Any chance of getting a running video?

I'll get one posted when I can. Without some chains, the tires are a bit too slippery to push much.

No rush. I just wanted to see how it worked. Take as much time as you need.

instead of chian's why not put screws in a set of crapy tire's that or worn out or you do not like.

First, because I don't have any spare tires to use. Second, I don't want to risk throwing a stud. Chains are easy enough to make, and can be swapped around onto different tires.

I'm going to call it done It's made with 1/8 x 1/2" aluminum and some sheetmetal. I rounded the ends of the link bars, but I didn't roll the plow very well and only spent about about 10 minutes polishing it so it's not the prettiest. I loosened up the hinge and put some springs on it. The spring tension is fairly critical. To tight and the truck comes to a jarring stop when you hit a chunk of ice or crack in the pavement, to loose and the plow folds under to easily so you can't push much snow. All the hinge points have nylon washers in them too.

The servo is the stock servo from my Exceed Driftstar. It's waterproof, and works well enough to lift the plow. The only mods to the truck are the hinge holes, and I had to narrow the bottom of the bumper a bit so the plow could drop down further. I'm also using Stampede wheels with some chains that I made.

It finally snowed again, so I got the chance to give it a through testing

Looks pretty sweet. Nice plow even has the springs to flip the blade down if you hit something like real plows have. I'd really like to see someone make a brushless powered snow blower mounted to the front of a car.
