Hey everyone!

I've been meaning to do this project for a little while, and now that I'm only 2 items away from having this thing running, I might as well make a thread.

I found this New Bright truck in the trash. It looked like it had been stepped on, as the driver's (left) side of the body was smashed (easily unbent, gives it character ) and the rear spring and retainer was completely missing, along with the lower mount (cracked off).

With a spool out back, motor capable of a 3s, and big foamless tires that are a chevron/spike hybrid design, I have decent hopes of this truck's ability to handle the white stuff.

Anyways, here's what the chassis looks like when it was new, I couldn't find the same body as what I have, so here's the closest thing:

I'll get some pictures later tonight for everyone.

The tires, rims and bumpers look just like my Fast Lane monster truck. With stock electronics it does OK in the snow, but the electronics are the weak point.

Okay everyone! The pictures are here!

First off, you may notice two things I've already done to the truck in this photo. I've chopped off the wheel guards on the bumper and tore off (literally grabbed and pulled) the front springs and retainers. The truck has no front suspension anyhow, and the springs are the exact same bore as the springs on my B4.1, so they're sitting at the rear of that buggy right now.

Here is the shock I'll be using for the rear: one (1) Electrix RC Circuit rear shock. I filled it with the lightest fluid I had, being 25wt that came with my B4.1 kit. The spring was still used from what came off the back (and is the same as the fronts, they are 1.15 lb/in spring rate. Very light). I'll need to mock up a mount for the upper and I'll need to drill a hole for the lower mount.

and it'll sit something like this

Here's a nice picture of the chassis completely gutted, I'll have to dremel off little mounting points for other things I won't have. Most of my things will be secured with double sided tape (minus the servo and battery box)

Ground down the stubs of what used to be wheel guards off the front bumper. It's pretty rough and I still need to sand it smooth yet.

I also didn't show you guys what the body looks like. It's a Chevy Silverado regular cab, step side short bed truck.

Won't see me back in this thread until Jan. 2nd. I'm really disappointed this truck is just in the beginning stages because we have a good 6 inches of snow here and will see more, but I'll be up north snowmobiling anyhow
