I was looking at the Axial SCX10 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon Kit for $330 but i also like the rc4wd trailfinder2 ($400) i can decide between the two. is it worth the extra 70 for the trail finder. or because this is my first crawler is it better to start with the cheaper just incase i dont like it.

the axial is more trail capable out of the box. The TF2 is mostly built though.. The shocks arent great on the TF2 and to really get good trail use you need to convert to linked suspension. also the 1.55 tires are kind of smallish. and the stockers arent soft and sticky at all.. the scx10 is far better off road... so unless its all out scaling you want, you will prefer the SCX10.

I was out crawling with a guy with a TF2. It was totally stock and it was his first time out with it. It went pretty much everywhere our scx10's went. the only real issue was the transfer case skid plate kept getting hung up on obstacles so needs to be raised or changed. It also comes with a 2 speed Transmission which will give you that extra wheel speed when needed.

skip this step and just get a holmes hobbies br-xl waterproofed edition.
hands down best brushed esc made. especially for crawling!! waterproofing is permanent and works 100%
