Notice I didn't make any mention of weight distribution I actually do not know if the weight balance is any different on this car from the FF01. The battery is farther forward, as is the servo and the overall mass of chassis plastic. It's actually possible that this one has more weight on the front wheels than the FF01. Do you have an accurate digital postal scale by chance so that we could check?
Unfortunately, I don't even know what that is xD Anyway, you may be right, as the battery is located approximately half-way between the wheelbase, creating even more understeering. Hey, didn't you once build an FF01 yourself?

All of my homage builds for Ultimate Tamiya get put up for sale right after they're run for the first time. The FF01 went to a hardcore Opel fan & collector in ... I think it was Belgium?

Well as expected, this one has a lot more steering than the FF01, with zero mods. Even on a beautifully prepped dedicated asphalt race track and driving with the stock silver-can motor, it's pretty easy to drift the back end out if you hit a turn fast, and even easier if you brake into a turn. Braking too hard or braking hard with the steering cranked to either side results in a very comical skidding slide for several feet in a straight line! Very realistic, though!

As usual the stock tires are uttery terrible, and the damping action is lighter than ideal as noted during the build. Fun to drive though, and I'm sure with some tuning and tire experimentation it could give a very driving experience. Even though it's a one-tone paint job, the body really looks great driving around too.

As with all of my builds for Ultimate Tamiya, video & a full set of photos will be put online with the final, official build page. I hope to have that done by the end of this week, along with the Desert Gator & TA04-S ones as well.

OK mate! =D Looking forward for the FF02, and even for the TA04 in a way, as I know absolutely nothing about 'em.
