UltimateTraxxas.com has joined forces with Nightmare Chassis to aid in the final testing & development of their hot new aluminum chassis conversion for the electric Rustler.

Taking a queue from the race-proven Traxxas SRT and TCP, the Nightmare chassis uses vertical center rails for tortional rigidity and lengthwise stiffness, eliminating the need for a thick, overly heavy lower plate. The Nightmare chassis will include all necessary hardware and easy, illustrated instructions.

Initial release was scheduled for this week, but has been pushed back slightly to allow final adjustments to the design that will be, I can personally assure you, well worth the wait.

I will post updates as appropriate. Expect a full, illustrated, honest review from me as soon as the final product is available.

Has anyone else noticed that this is about a micron away from being a Rustler to SRT conversion? Can I buy one of these chassis and build myself a brand new all aluminum and carbon fiber SRT? THAT would be cool.

Actually, the Rustler and SRT still have some fairly large differences in the suspension and transmission. It's not obviouis at first, but if you look closely, they're there.

If you really want a CF/Aluminum SRT, you can always get an SRT and adapt the Nightmare chassis to fit it.

The transmission is the same for all practical purposes, save the aluminum plate. To go to SRT suspension, just put on Nitro Rustler rear arms & hub carriers and front spindles & c-blocks. Oh, and don't forget the rear wheels, which can be E.Rustler fronts.

Transmission internals are the same-the question is if the SRT style transmission bulkhead will fit between the trans and the back end of the rails.I'd really hate to grind on anything that pretty. But if it was possible you could then adjust the rear caster and toe and not worry about breaking the crappy rustler transmission halves any more.Pick up ten more places to mount the turnbuckles too.

"I want", agreed. I need them to shuffle to making me a pede chassis, lol. I'm hooked on pede like my sister on phonix. Its shiny, I like shiny stuff.

I think you've chosen well, that thing is perfect in EVERY way.
