Hopefully somebody tests it out soon. Maybe they can pave the way to something new. I browsed their website quick and their only other car is a 1/18 MT. Its a copy of a Revell Modzilla. It looks to have been pushed through many other manufacturers besides those two so, nothing new there to go by.

Could go either way I suppose, but leaning towards "meh" because of the questionable long-term parts support, say even a year down the line since it looks to be an original design. Right now it seems like eBay has most if not all parts for it. Also, a questionable website (never heard of it until now) called "rc hobby explosion", seems to have a lot of parts in stock. But the prices seem high for some and they suggest "Usually delivers within 10 days" when you select the cheapest shipping.

Maybe someone who's bought from them can chime in.

Traverse is the more normal way of mounting the battery across the chassis for mid motor, instead of down the chassis.

The 22 for example used to mount the battery down the middle but changed to traverse.

+1

Main reason why transverse (battery mounted sideways) is better is because you place more weight to the rear to provide better rear traction without having to add ballast weight.

Square packs are another tuning option to add more weight/capacity/punch for all around better performance

It also puts weight out wider than an inline setup which changes handling characteristics in corners.
