Thanks DrJ - I even started a thread a while back asking why all the videos on here seemed to have death metal or dubstep?

@Sneetches - I locked the rear-diff with blu-tack and put 50,000 weight oil in the front diff.

The only thing that concerns me about running the 27T brushed motors is how well they'll cope with the weight of a Slash 4x4... any thoughts?
a 27t brushed motor could potentialy work if you gear it really low and run say 3 or 4s

but other wise i would check out http://holmeshobbies.com/home.php they have some very powerful and water proof crawler motors that should be more than up to the task, and holmes is supposed to be pretty helpful if you need help picking the right motor for your rig
i know it may be hard but try to think outside the box! 😊

I had an adventurous day with my cars, but after breaking the ERBE 3 times I thought I'd just take the SlashMit for another walk at Lysterfield Lake.

This looks like a fun truck. I'm getting a Telluride to essentially do the same to it, make it a trail/crawling truck. I have a Wraith and I'm bored with it.

The SlashMit is going well, been on a few outings recently as I built a CC01 before Christmas, and my son and I go out with them... It's bigger wheels and ground clearance give it quite an advantage.

I realised I hadn't driven this truck in a year - especially with 2 CC01s and a Summit filling any gaps in the 'trail truck' category.

So as a final entry, here's the final spec before it got disassembled:

Modifications:
  • Inix sensored brushless ESC
  • Inix sensored brushless 11.5T motor
  • RPM Rear Bumper
  • RPM A-arms and other parts??
  • Outerwears cover
  • Custom body mounts
  • RPM light set w/ leds
  • Traxxas Summit body - custom paint
  • Traxxas Summit Fender Flares
  • Pro-Line Roof Rack
  • Rebuilt XX-Long shocks
  • Blu-tack in the rear diff, 50,000 weight diff oil in the front diff
  • Traxxas Stampede 4x4 T-Bone shock guards
  • Yeah Racing scale accessories (jerry can, spade, etc)
  • Pro-Line Racing Badlands 2.8 30 Series
  • Pro-Line Desperado Wheels

I really like it. The Summit shell really works on that platform.

Wow, you hadn't driven it in a year? I guess that's how it goes sometimes, you put in a bunch of work to get something just the way you want it, and then discover it was the tinkering you really enjoyed.
