So I purchased a brushed RTR slash 2wd for my son on his 8th birthday 2 months ago. Started him off in training mode and once he got the hang of it, I put it in normal mode. I was pretty impressed with how quickly his driving skills improved.

He loves bashing around and wanted more speed and longer run times. I told him we could ask Santa for some better batteries and a faster motor. Of course he wanted "the fastest" motor which does not surprise me because after all, he is my son. So my research began...

I read tons and tons of posts on this forum and watched lots of videos. I started placing orders and realized that with more power, I would need to upgrade other items to make it bullet proof. Once I got started, I could not stop myself until I had spent $783.86 on upgrades and misc accessories. So here is a list of the items purchased...

Well, I get the feeling this turned into my Christmas gift instead of my sons. Should provide a few days of fun for me putting this all together but when my wife catches wind of how much I spent, I may be sleeping on the couch for a while.

Happy Holidays to all.

Amazing!! Def a great way to celebrate the holidays!!

Are you planning to run 2s? 5000kv is just a tad high for running 3s, but you might consider it. If I were building a rig from scratch without a lot of pre-existing stuff lying around, i would def aim at 3s or 4s.
