You really don't need an 1/8 system for a Slash 4x4.

The plastic axles are crap even on 2s so you'll no doubt need Tekno's or MIP X-Duty axles along with the King Headz motor mount and slipper adapter. Diffs will be fine as long as they're still in good shape.
Cool looks like a good 4Pole system

He's not kidding about the plastic axles. I looked at mine last night and this is what I found.....

With all the curved tabs, oval holes, and twisted half shafts my axles have at least a 1/4 turn to them. They will probably fall apart any day now. After I saw how bad they were I started researching MIP X-duty and Tekno CVDs and after a lot of deliberation I decided to go with MIP shafts. Hopefully they will get here before the old ones give out.

Update....The rear right drive shaft broke today.

Sorry for taking your thread a bit but can you fit the mamba monster 2 2200kv combo in the slash or do you need some kind of mount?

Nope bolts right in. The esc will need to be stuck down with either glue or servo tape.

Do you have the HCG or LCG chassis?

Then yes. The MM2 fits the LCG. You just have to get the mounting bracket (part# 5626) from Traxxas and it uses the holes in the chassis:

RPM makes a mount as well, but I don't have one:

You have to move your Rx box to the front. It uses holes that already there as well:

or you can fab your own mount and put it where you want:

i have a castle 1/8 sidewinder in my slash with the 2200 kv motor. it has the mip xduty shafts, and a robinson racing gen3 slipper. i had problems with the stock diffs not handling the extra power. i've since swapped them out for x01 take offs and haven't had a problem since. i also use a vg racing chassis brace, so i had to get creative with the receiver. i just stuffed it in a plastic bag and tie wrapped it to the back of the shock tower. you'll want to upgrade your motor mount and slipper bushing at the very least.

Hey nice build! And creative gps mount. Unfortunately i live in sweden and there arent really those kinds of gpsīs in the stores, i might order one but i havenīt really found one of those small ones, can you link one? Also do you know a good body for the slash? i dont really need the best body ever since im just going to make it go about 110 kph which is (i think) about 65 mph. Ive already found my tires at my local hobby shop but they dont really have good bodies. also any recommended shocks? Should i get the Traxxas rally front bumper or the jconcept one? Thanks
