Hi Guys,
Finally got round to building up my slash 2wd but have hit a problem you might be able to help with.
Building the transmission and trying to push the top drive gear (3195) onto the input shaft, presumably it needs to push up flush to the pin but as you can see in the photo, it stops .5 cm before it even reaches it.

Am I missing something? All parts are new and traxxas.

also, the idler gear (3696) is shown on the schematic, as having bearings and shims on each side but does not give a part number or ID for the cylindrical part that goes through it, any ideas?
thanks Rob

You need to press the gear on. Deep socket and a vise or hammer.

I think the gear goes on the other side of the shaft, but still facing the same direction. And as far as I can remember, it does need to be press-fit with some decent force.
Smell something burning? Sorry, I was thinking.

No worries, hope you get it worked out.
Also, I couldn't find any specs on the idler gear shaft either. Best I can tell it is included with the gearbox case, and cannot be purchased separately. That said, I know the od should be 5mm because the bearings are 5x11. Past that I don't really know.

thanks Basher, you right, modelsport said I had to buy the whole housing, I got the Hr one but have to buy the traxxas one anyway for that one part. I will give it a go in the am when my patience is restored, thanks again

I did a quick search and found one for the Nitro Stampede/Rustler it looks different than the part you are looking for though.
