Look- first thing that actually isn't a question! This is the third version of my motor mount, the others sucked and I think this one should be good =D

I see you're running 30%. Is that because you think you're slow? 'Cause you're not. You could be running 15 if you felt like it.

Okay, got the motor, got the heatsink, got the BEC, got the pinion, got the batteries, got the balancer figured out, got the wiring set up, got the battery placement down. All I need to do, is wait for the Mamba Max, Castle sucks at E- Mailing me back. Get the ESC, install it, set it up, drive =D

Where did you find that aluminum angle? Is it 2"x2"?

arthur- The aluminum I found came from Home Depot, it was an angled bar of aluminum, I'm not 100% sure on the dimensions, but I think it's 2" X 2".

Slidnslash- I agree, the mount looks pretty bendable in a crash, but I will add some kind of a motor brace, I have some left over aluminum =P

The mount is going to be a flat piece of aluminum cut to the thickness of the chassis, resting on the tops of the side plates, I'll create some kind of motor support, and since the motor is far off to the side of the chassis, that will leave me room to safely place the ESC, it's get more airflow up there, than if it were underneath the motor. Also, when I do that, under the motor is a free space, enough free space to rig up a battery mount.

I came up with this plan from your suggestion, thanks =]

Was that aluminum pretty expensive?

If you havent heard, I am doing a conversion on a first gen HPI MT, and I had the idea to use aluminum angle to make a motor mount, and you beat me to it. lol. So since you have done it already, do you mind if I pick your brain? lol

No problem =D The aluminum was 20$ for about a yard of the angled aluminum, which is enough to make a ton of parts.

exactly I will look into some in my area. $20 is reasonable for 3ft.

Are you going to use a can clamp, or make you own like you had mentioned?

Well, it's not really a clamp, it's a bolt to support the back of the motor in the case of a crash, so it won't bend the mount, if I actually have a problem with this setup, I'll get the Kershaw Designs mount.
It's here =P

I did this today.

There's the bolt, it's supporting the back of the motor, there's no gap, and it's not pushing the motor up at all, it's adjusted perfectly.

The ESC is going on that open spot.

The batteries

Articulation

Closer look at the EBEC

All I have to do is hook the ESC up, which will take like 15 minutes after receiving it, I'm really excited =] The truck is extremely rear- heavy, I'll need to stiffen the rear shocks, and soften the front to equal it out. Please ignore my crappy looking rims, I'm dying them today. Black
