does anybody know if i could run a slash 4x4 with a titan 550 and xl5, thx

Yes you can, keep an eye on your temps.

I believe stock pinion is 13t (32p), you might look into going down to something like an 11t (which is stock/default for a brushless Stampede 4x4) or even a 9t (which is stock/default for a brushed Stampede 4x4). You can always put the bigger pinion back in once you are sure you have temps under control (or once the weather gets cold again!).

i was thinking of converting my stampede 4x4 over to a slash, so i have a 9 tooth pinion already

Yes you can. I already have done that with my Slash 4x4 that I had just completed recently. I have tested it out and ran it in my block and outside of my block its speed is very decent but not as fast as a brushless system you must keep that in mind as long as your gear it properly and be aware of the limitations of the Titan 12 turn motor you should be fine.
