Traxxas 1/8 NHRA Funny Car
RTR Electric RC Dragster

Experience the Speed, Power, and Adrenaline
of NHRA Drag Racing in 1/8 Scale!

Choose your model from the winningest team in drag race history, 17X champion John Force Racing.

Outrageous Horsepower, Intense Speed, and the Unmatched Realism
Cubic-inch for cubic-inch, no motorsport offers as much sheer power and performance as NHRA drag racing. A single funny car produces more horsepower than the first 8 rows of cars in a stock-car race. Drivers pull more than five Gs when they launch, accelerating faster than a fighter jet. Over 300mph is achieved in about the time it takes to read this sentence.
The Traxxas NHRA Funny Car Race Replica brings it all to life the Traxxas way with outrageous horsepower, intense speed, and the unmatched realism and authenticity that only comes from being both fans and dedicated participants in NHRA drag racing. The Traxxas NHRA Funny Car accurately captures the total racing experience with realistic staging action on the start line. After your burnout, shake up your opponent by being the last one to roll into the stage beam. When the lights go green, release the Launch Control for a perfect reaction time. You've already set your wheelie bar and used the multi-function knob on your transmitter to fine-tune the launch for maximum traction and acceleration. From there, it's up to you to keep it full throttle down the track and across the finish line.

Off the track, the realism continues with tilt-up licensed bodies developed from the full size CAD drawings, tube style chassis, super-sticky belted slicks, and accurate detailing. The front latch eliminates body clips for fast access to the battery compartment. The full suspension system is engineered to give the Traxxas NHRA Funny Car the ability to handle the ruts and bumps of real world track surfaces. Combined with the Traxxas DTS-1 Drag Timing System (sold separately) and the Traxxas Link application on your TQi Docking Base (all sold separately), Traxxas drag racing becomes a full-on simulation with timing so accurate, races are won and lost by a millisecond. Only Traxxas could bring this level of intense racing competition and all-out fun together in such a tightly engineered package.

Realistic "Tube" Chassis
The steel, welded-tube construction of the full-size John Force Racing Funny Cars is replicated by the Traxxas NHRA Funny Car's gleaming black-chrome chassis. Details including the front-mounted fuel tank (non-functional, of course) and driver's roll cage give the Funny Car authentic looks to match its realistic performance. The wheelie bar is a functional tuning aid that helps the Funny Car transfer weight to the rear wheels for a perfect launch.

TQi 2.4GHz Intelligent Transmitter
The World's Most Advanced Ready-To-Race® Radio System

The Traxxas NHRA Funny Car is equipped with the TQi,™ the world's most advanced Ready-To-Race® radio system. The radio system is the sole connection between the driver and machine and the all-new Traxxas TQi has been engineered to be precise, comfortable, powerful, and reliable. The TQi radio system arrives with a full complement of tuning features including steering and throttle sensitivity, steering percentage, braking strength, servo end points, and more. The unique 4-channel transmitter allows you to select Burnout, Staging, and Race Modes. When you're ready to pull the trigger and race, the Launch Control switch lets you hold full throttle and flip the switch to launch. Use the multi-function knob to dial in the ET-3s speed control's torque settings for the quickest launches. Tune for temperature and track conditions just like the pro's. The TQi's long-range, high-output, 2.4GHz signal combines with proven Traxxas reliability for rock-solid performance.

It's so advanced, it doesn't even need an external antenna.

Over-The-Top Brushless Horsepower
NHRA Funny Cars are famous for their fire-breathing 8000 horsepower engines that deliver massive thrust and propel them to speeds over 300mph in just 4-seconds. When the light goes green, the new ET-3s brushless power system responds in an instant and unloads a massive blast of Extreme Power™ that rockets the Traxxas NHRA Funny Car to the finish line. There are no brushes to wear out so you can dial in consistent times and blazing speed, pass after pass. Traxxas' exclusive Staging Mode (patent pending) allows the Traxxas NHRA Funny Car to creep into the stage beams of the DTS-1 timing system (sold separately) allowing you to execute authentic starting line strategy against your opponent.

DTS-1 Drag Timing System
Capture the Total Drag Racing Experience

You've never seen anything like this before! Traxxas innovation takes your racing fun to a whole new level with an authentic, portable, and affordable drag race timing and scoring system. The DTS-1 unfolds and turns any strip of smooth asphalt into your own personal drag strip. Everything has been scaled to re-create the entire drag racing experience with as much accuracy and realism as possible. The center point is the authentic Christmas tree with its super bright LED display and modern stage light configuration.

Dual beams on the starting line allow competitors to pre-stage and stage with laser precise accuracy. Depending on your quickness and skill, you can select either a pro or sportsman tree for the countdown. When the lights go green, the race is on; but don't jump the start or you'll be disqualified! At the end of the track, the finish line beams determine the winner with millisecond accuracy. Race up to 330 feet or the equivalent of a 1/4 scale quarter mile.

Want even more detail? Use the TQi Docking Base and an iPhone or iPod touch with the Traxxas Link application, (all available separately), and the DTS-1 creates digital time slips with your elapsed time, reaction time, and trap speed to a tenth of a mph. The DTS-1 adds a whole new dimension that takes your drag racing fun to an exciting, full-on simulation of the NHRA pro racing experience.

Traxxas DTS-1 Drag Timing System (#6570) sold separately.

Can't be a modified X-01. As it only goes up to 70mph. And would be 2wd because of the small front tires. Maybe a rustler chassis?

interested to see which platform they base this off of. it wouldn't surprise me if it was a rustler chassis with big rear tires. sorry to hate but, that seems to be the traxxas way.

i don't like it.
RC drag racing is a niche market. there's no need for an RTR and im guessing 99% of bashers have no need for a straight line only vehicle. if it's pan based that just more BS bashers are going to talk about it. if it's TC or chassis based then the drag racers are probably going to BS it.
it's a little more than a shelf queen gimmick
just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean it wont be a good time.
i used to crash a lot. i still do, but i used to, too.
It's my duty as a human being to be pissed off.

not trying to sound biased here.. even though i kinda am biased.... just contradicted my own statement lol. yes, this is a biased post. if you can't handle it, well.. idk?
it's another useless product.
it has no turning ability. the turning radius is going to be retarded.
the drag racing market isnt big, but there are a good mount of people in it.
most of the people in the drag racing market do not run electric, at least i havent seem them run electric
it ruins the fun of drag racing
the acceleration of an electric motor is far greater than that of a nitro or gas engine.
the nitro/gas aspect of drag racing makes it fun.
not all the cars kit 0-60 in 3 or 4 seconds per say.
with nitro and gas, there is timing involved, and a lot of tuning.

the car itself will be almost impossible to use because no one has a smooth enough surface where they can go in a straight line and not worry about hitting a pebble and spinning out.

you'd need to hit up a race track or even a drag track to use it =/

as suburbn said, it's just another shelf queen.

i do like that it's going to be 2wd, or at least i hope it will.
i just hope it isnt going to cost an arm, leg and an apple product to use.
