An RC Tune-Up! I go through the process of making minimal, reasonably-priced changes to transform the performance of an RTR or kit-stock vehicle.

In this one I'm working on the handling & traction of the 1/10th scale Traxxas Slash 2WD short course truck, purchased in brushed motor form.

not a bad start. step 2 should be brushless (as specified) and some cheap structural upgrades (RPM bearing carriers, ect...)

oh yeah, don't forget about cutting holes in the body to release air, as some bashers enjoy huge jumps (not ROAR Legal)

Very cool, I'm liking these. Surprised you didn't go with a LCG setup right off the bat, was it to keep price down?

I would love to see a different take on this video. Instead of making the Slash a 'racer', it would be cool to see it's basher potential increased. The base kit floats right down the middle, leaning a little more to the basher side in my opinion. I don't know where the majority of Slash owners use their vehicles, but there are no tracks anywhere near my neck of the woods.

Maybe a video tuning for the maximum plushness in suspension, while still maintaining a good handling feel. A tuning more in the direction of a trophy truck, than a short course. As always though, it's your truck and your video so you do what you want with it

I believe you mentioned a good book explaining the ins and outs of suspension. Could you please post what the name of it was?

I have to say Jang, great changes. I have a slash 2wd as well, but with a Vileneon brushless. although it started life with a titan 12t. i recently put Jconcepts goosebumps on it for running at the local track, as well as the alluminum shock bodies from TRX with 45w oil, and have a few different spring choices. the tires alone were a dramatic improvement. i am looking forward to seeing where you go next with this, as i may follow suit.

JANG, would you mind explaining why you used harder springs at the rear? I'm curious.

I've experimented with springs with my B4 but I usually use stiffer springs at the front.

I too would be interested in an LCG kit review. You already have the rustler, so why not?

nice, i love the fact that you posted what you did to the truck, any chance when you do a review you could add that "page" to all your videos? over all nice job getting it to handle that well.
